I'm having a similar problem. I recently downloaded 5.10.30 on my home computer (with Win XP) and a work computer (Vista).

On the home computer, I have no problem seeing the graphics.

On the work computer (Vista), I just see the logo and I can tell it's *running* as the percentages increase (I can tell I'm getting new work in the "messages" section, too). However, I am not seeing the graphics.

Is this a Vista only problem?

I'm not using Vista

Try this:

You can disable the use of your onboard GFXcard in your BIOS. Do check for new drivers for your card. You can try the newest Boinc download 5.10.44.
I run Vista myself, no problems so far. Except for my work, they block with the firewall and proxysettings BOINC..:(

I use a Nvidia card, anyone have the same problem with a ATI card or the same card? Does the card function correctly under other applications? Is your company using it's own build for mastering they desktops or laptops, could be a look or feel problem, a designe flaw within the build. Had some personal experience with this. Hope I could help with your problem.

Disable your onboard GFXcard only if there is another one installed on the AGP or PCIe slot.

When my screensaver comes up, it's just the BOINC logo with the satus of the processing underneath. How can I get the cool SETI graphic to appear? There are no error messages that I can see.

What kind of video card do you have?
Is it truly a video card, or an on-the-motherboard chip?
How much memory does it have?

Most of that info can be procured through Start->Run->type dxdiag->click OK, if you're not sure.

I think the Seti screen saver needs 32MB of memory at minimum on the video card. Now if this is on your Core2Duo, it looks like you're using on-board video and only appointed 8MB of memory to the chip.

I do have a Video Card, 256MB ATI Radeon 2400 XT, is there a setting or some such to allocate resources properly?

Did you install BOINC as a system service or single user? Are you switching user accounts (Windows Fast User Switching)?

Single user, and as far as I know I'm not using windows fast user switching.

Is your screen saver password protected? If so, you have to disable the password protection to see the SETI@Home screen saver.

I tried that and it didn't work.
