I started out as an electronics engineering technologist, then worked as account manager for Electronics Workbench/Multisim, then a server at Montana's Steakhouse and now my current career as Electrician.

I don't know if it's the trade I'm in, but there doesn't seem to be many high achievers in contracting. The people that seem to be making the big bucks in my area aren't all that competent, but they're really good at laying on the bull real thick.

Actually, now that I think about it. The people that are doing a really good job in their field are the ones that care about doing a good job. The incompetent ones only care about themselves and how much they can get for as little effort as possible.

So, find someone that has what you want and learn what they did in order to achieve it, if you can.

Well, let's say I'm a member of the working class :D

I worked in many occupations in the last twenty years, but right now I'm working as a facility manager in a children day-care center (salaried) and as a part-time English tutor, helping kids get better grades in school (voluntary). And I'm trying to get a foot into the translator/interpreter business.
