I have 7 credits pending from about 2 weeks ago why hasnt the credit gone through, the date that it was due has expired to my knowledge. You have some work units that are still waiting for another computer to crunch. One gave a very different result on the two machines that crunched it, so a third is needed to figure out which one might have the correct result. Another was assigned, the other machine did not return it, and a new result has been generated but not yet assigned for crunching. Overall, a pretty normal set of reasons. |

Different reasons, Results not similar enough, resent to a third computer. Reissued after your wingman failed to return within the deadline. The deadline has not expired yet, your wingmen still have time to return their results. A workunit needs to be crunched by two computers and return the same result. |

A workunit remains in pending status until a quorum partner has returned a second copy of that same workunit so they can be cross-validated. If your quorum partner's deadline expires (like I saw for only one of your pending workunits that expired today), then it is marked "no reply" and a new copy is sent out to another participant with a new deadline. This process can happen a few times, which can cause some workunits to wait months for validation, though realistically this is not considered the norm. Most workunits are validated by the first quorum partner within a few days to a week or so. |

So does the data set on my computer while waiting to be accepted? |

Once you report the unit back to the Seti servers, the work no longer on your machine. It sits on the Servers at Seti until the other computer reports the task. Once you finish and report the unit it is no longer on your systems. |

Don't get discouraged, 2 weeks is little to wait. We have pendings3-4-5 months and still waiting on a MIA wingman. It will eventually get crunched. I can only imaging super crunchers like mslatter, who?, bad to the bone and such, thier pendings they have. Anyway, this pendings is a dead horse we out not to try to revive lol. As I said, don't get discouraged. |

So does the data set on my computer while waiting to be accepted? No. The actual result of your computation is sent to a file server ASAP after the task finishes. Once the upload has completed successfully, the task is shown as “ready to report†in BOINC Manager. Sometime afterward the BOINC client reports a batch of completed work to the scheduling server, then deletes all the associated files and client-state entries from the host’s data folder. From that point onward, your results exist only in the project’s working database. Once all the tasks assigned from a given WU have been accounted for (whether reported or declared expired), it becomes eligible for cleanup: the “canonical result†chosen by the validator gets entered in the science database, and the WU is removed from the working databaseâ€â€at that point it will disappear from your task pages. |

Yeah having a few pending credits are fine. I have onlt recently rejoined the crunching ranks and I had a quick count and there are over 120 "Pending" in my logs. My 2 PC's (Q6600's) return units in well under a day, but I see some of the ones that have been allocated the other copy of the WU have return delays of 6 & 8 days or more. Ah well, I'm crunching, so it's up to them to catch up :) I assume the value of the credits that are pending are not yet added to my total score as yet? (i.e. once they are confirmed they will get added which makes sence). It's only a few thousand credits (8,700) so not a huge value overall I guess. |
