My other computers are downloading WUs just fine though. Thanks for your help. Anybody else knows how to fix this? Thanks.

It looks like Seti cancelled all the tasks you had in progress. This shouldn't deduct your quota though, so I would go complain about it in the thread that Mac-Nic pointed at, to be sure the project admins know about it.

With each task returned correctly, your quota should double again, but that will take a while.

Hi Patrick,

I've marked the reason for your issue above ("reached daily quota of 4 results"). For whatever reason the SETI server thought it has to cancel some dozens work units you had already on your host (see here). This probably led to a reduction of your daily quota (what it shouldn't do).

The daily quota will be reduced by one with each unsuccessful computed work unit, but will be doubled with each successful returned result. So this should be fixed in the next hours, as soon as your host has crunched some more work units.

HTH
Andy

Patrick....

The problem is in the last line.........

01/29/2008 06:16:56 PM|SETI@home|Message from server: (reached daily quota of 4 results)

The question should be why did more than 250 work units get canceled by the servers at Berkeley as being redundant? This happened today also.

ALL the canceled results show as errors on your account and so have reduced the amount of work you can download. When it resumes letting you download it will start at one work unit for each processor. As each is properly worked and returned the amount you may download will double. This goes on until you are back to 100 per day per processor.

Shouldn't take long to get back with that quad but like I said....the real question is why all that work suddenly became redundant and not needed.

Your daily quota is calculated per computer. Your other computers running all day will not clear up the problem for your main computer.

The only way to fix this is to let your computer do the 4 workunits today, and tomorrow it will have a quota of 8 per day (assuming all results returned are valid), then the next day your quota will increase to 16, etc. and will keep increasing everyday until you reach the max of 100 workunits per day.

Great question. I do not know. Maybe the admin would know. Nothing has changed on my computer. I think. Thanks a lot for your help, though.
