Just curious....
I had not done a Super PI run on my Penny rig until just now.....I think I used to do a 1M run in about 14-15 seconds on my X6800 rig when it was at it's fastest.

The phased Penny did the 1M Super PI in 10.125 seconds at 4.6ghz......that's pretty smokin', but surely no world record.

If I am not mistaken, the Super PI test uses a lot of floating point ops, as does much of Seti crunching. What are some of your scores?

You can download the Super PI mod app at xtremesystems.com if you are interested.........
Shut down Boinc/Seti and any other tasks before you run it so your computer can devote all it's resources to the test run to get a valid result. It will run along with other tasks, but if it is competing for system resources during the run, your time will be slower.
The 1M run is what most OCers use as a benchmark.

I think the world record right now is 7.453 seconds on a QX9650 OCd to a little over 6ghz. Ouch.

And on the low end of the scale ('til my E8400 Arrives... )

P4 Northwood 2.0 @2.1 : 1M superPi in 1 min 32.765 seconds... (making msattler's Penryn ~9.2 times faster)

LOL handy program to have if your work involves a lot of really accurate circles :D

It is interesting using the PI programe to compare technology over the last 8 years.

My dual P3 RAID+1 server runs the programme in 2 mins 10.937 seconds (130.937s). This rig is 7 or more years old.

My dual Prestonia Xeon server runs the same in 57.250 seconds, and is 4.5 years old.

My QX6,700 Quad runs it in 17.140 seconds, and is coming up to 1 year old.

Finally, my QX9,650 runs it in 12.547 seconds and is coming up to 3 days old.

Just tried it on one of my Q6600s, 16.42s. That was on the G0 one, not bad I think.

My 4400+ X2 ticked the tock in 38.672 seconds. I was pleasantly surprised it did well for a 3 year old proc.

Hmmmm...very curious. I just did another run on the Penny, and I saw exactly the same thing.....25% cpu usage. 10.141 seconds.....

Not so......
Task manager shows only using 25% of one core.....not 25% of the total....the one core that is running is only at 25% usage....
I'm gonna search a bit more....I think I saw a reference last night to a version of Super PI that ran on more than one core....I'll get back to y'all on that.

Oh, silly me.....you were right......25% of the total, 100% on that one core...
Sorry for my stupid oversight.....
