Make a donation to Seti and you get one that lasts a year. The link to donate is on the home page under the "Participate" column. -Dave

Since the prospective donors are from Britain and Australia, things are not that simple. It will have to be an international money order or a wire transfer. For the later, you will need to contact Seti Berkeley via the e-mail link to get the routing and account number. Costs about 15 Euros in Germany and Austria. Silver Surfer was going to try it, I don't know if he has. Hope that helps Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |

I never knew that there was such an additional cost to sending a philanthropic donation from outside North America into the U.S. (From Canada, it’s simply a matter of getting a M/O adjusted to U.S. funds.) That sounds like highway robbery to me. Banks and governments are getting wealthy off of your good intentions. . .:-( |

True, but they want to cover their overhead. One way I just thought about might be a travellers check. Worth looking into, might be cheaper way to go, if Berkeley is willing to take them. I personally don't see why not. Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |

Just had a look at my banks website and they charge £20 for sending money to an overseas account. Plus no doubt they would also rip me off changing £ to $ too...

Just had a look at my banks website and they charge £20 for sending money to an overseas account. If you have a UK bank account, don't you have some sort of cashpoint card or debit card? Anything with the Visa or Mastercard symbol on it will do - it doesn't have to be a credit card. My Nationwide BS debit card even got me a green star with no handling fees at all, and no loading on the exchange rate either. |

Visa Debit card worked fine all the way from here in Oz :D "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. And unlike most advice, it's backed up by proofs." -- Algorithms to live by: The computer science of human decisions. |
