I know that the guys will get in later, exert their authority over the servers and everything will start to catch up, so as far as I'm concerned, I keep on crunching! Yep while I can keep getting WU's (And I have a 2 day buffer here just in case) then I'll keep crunching. I'll get the credits eventually. Admittedly some are not from the last few days, but the current "crisis" has added about 9000 extras to it so far & climbing |

It will be interesting to watch the suddenly increased RACs when the validators come back on line. If a cruncher had 50K pending, with and RAC of 5K, then a sudden rush of credit could flush the RAC to over 10K (temporarily) It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |

Problem seems to have changed: Yesterday was just a failure to access the server, now the messages are showing this: 3/03/2008 8:34:41 PM|SETI@home Beta Test|[error] Error on file upload: can't open file 3/03/2008 8:34:41 PM|SETI@home Beta Test|Temporarily failed upload of 11oc06aa.726.540657.5.10.209_1_0: transient upload error 3/03/2008 8:34:41 PM|SETI@home Beta Test|Backing off 54 min 45 sec on upload of 11oc06aa.726.540657.5.10.209_1_0 Rebooting makes no difference, although I have managed to upload and report several main project WUs, the Beta project is now feeling a little tired, I think! Keep going, Matt and Co. We have every faith in your abilities. |

no problems with uploads now, just downloads sticking. I'm sure the guys will sort it when they stumble in to the office. |

Same here. Uploads going though OK but downloads are static. How far behind the UK is the West coast US? Guess we should get some action by about 4 this pm. no problems with uploads now, just downloads sticking. I'm sure the guys will sort it when they stumble in to the office. |

On the other hand it could just be aliens having a laugh. No sooner did I make the complaint below when I just downloaded 6 at one go with no trouble! Same here. See the Cricket graphs. Downloads are coming through absolutely fine, and have been doing for the last eighteen hours or so. The trouble is, we're demanding even more of them than the old router can handle - it maxxes out at about 60 Mbit/sec. The new router has had its operating system replaced, and IIRC isalmost fully configured and ready for service - hopefully this week? |

See the Cricket graphs. Downloads are coming through absolutely fine, and have been doing for the last eighteen hours or so. Faster than I expected - in both senses. Something has lifted the download bandwidth well over 90Mb/s - can only be the new router. |

I'm still having delays in uploading though, three units doing retry after retry. But these 08 tapes seem to be all VHAR (shorties) so I am trying to return about 10/hr. |

But these 08 tapes seem to be all VHAR (shorties) so I am trying to return about 10/hr. I still have a mix of 1:30 WU's from 06 & the 20 min ones from 08, but almost all the new ones seem to be short WU's. I wonder of the current maxing out of the routers is simply because of the 4x faster units that are being sent, processed & recieved back? The WU's are the same size, I assume the result files are not a huge size, but still need to be added to the database & verified etc. |
