From BOINC Synergy's RSS Feed:
Hope that helps. Report back via BOINC is maintenance -- the home page is dead. Been down for 3 hours (1PM MST). |

Thanks much -- that explains it. Of course most outages are predicted in 'airport time' -- 'few hours' -- something between 4 and 24. But at least it was a planned outage -- that is a good thing. From BOINC Synergy's RSS Feed: |

LOL No problem. I usually check the RSS feed at least once a day. I remembered seeing something about Rosetta, so it helped. Hehe. Have a good one! Jeremy Thanks much -- that explains it. Ah - the same source explains LHC's outage as well (electrical work in the lab - off until Monday morning). Thanks for the heads-up. |

Airport time indeed -- three hours ago they put up a quick note on a temporary home page on their URL -- we will be back online around 6PM PST. I just checked the site (it is 7:30PM PST) and the update was changed to: "We are currently down for maintenance. We hope to be back online later this evening. Sorry for any inconvenience. " No real surprise there (server upgrades are fraught with peril -- been there, done that). I hope they don't lose the entire weekend. I simply work shifted most of my farm by suspending Rosetta -- since all workstations I control which have BOINC on them have at least three projects, the cycles just get shifted about for a while and it will reduce the surge effect I can generate if they all complete work and have a backlog (Rosetta has been my top current work project for months). |

The Rosetta folks are getting closer -- they have their real home page up now instead of the emergency text message. The databases remain offline (9:15PM PST). So now we have boarded the plane and are in a runway delay (smile).
