If I had to eat cereal, I'd go with, your choice, Domi!

That looks like good old yummy Kid's fun!

My father talks me into having the porridge with him about three times a year John. It's an acquired taste; he certainly prefers it over the cerials most of us like. :]]

I liked porridge from an early age.

I got a taste for it with salt from my father back in the late 1940s and very early 1950s. This was later strengthened during my Scots prep school time (1952 to 1956).

I hope it wasn't charley boys Gordonstoun...

No!

Mr Knock's Lathallan School.

This was in preparation for either Fettes College or Glenalmond College (as they are now known).

I never attended, although accepted.

We moved to St Helier, and I went to the local Grammar.

I must say that Flashman was still in evidence there (Lathallan), but we did not have the fagging process where younger boys acted as the slaves/fetch and carrying for the older boys. No prefects there.

I'm told that you should used rolled oats, but not the instant (whatever that is). I'm told it's actually quite healthy and that it's good for people who need digestive regularity and/or bulk in their diet. My father swears by its properties for keeping the whole digestive track clear of debris. fwiw. :]

Yes they were rolled under stone, and then soaked in fresh cold water over night.

Today`s story :

The 20 Dollar Bill.

A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up
a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked:

"Who would like this $20 bill?"
Hands started going up. He said:
"I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first,
let me do this."
He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up.
He then asked:
"Who still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in the air.
"Well," he replied, "what if I do this?"

And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into
the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.

"Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.

"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson.
No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because
it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground
into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that
come our way. We feel as though we are worthless.

But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you
will never lose your value. To those who love you, you are
priceless.

The worth of our lives come not in what we do or who we know
but by who we are!
