Hi Beets, I agree with what you are saying. As for the kids now days most of them can't even read. I used to teach the classroom portion of Driver Education, and about 60% of the students could not even read simple words. I makes me despair as to what things are coming to. What kind of leaders will we have in the next twenty to thirty years?

Hi Robert! Sorry for the delay, I had to rush off to the supermarket to get a couple of things my father needed.

What kind of leaders will we have? A good question, that one is.

In the United States, education among the wealthy ruling class will continue to be promoted, through the expensive universities and their exclusive fraternities. Skull and Bones of Yale continues to be the main door of brotherhood and entry for United States rulers. You want an eye-opener? Check out this "60 Minutes" article about the two Presidential competitors in the 2004 elections.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/10/02/60minutes/main576332.shtml

For a very brief overview of Skull and Bones, see Wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skull_and_Bones

So for the wealthy class, the 10% that own over 1/2 of America, the traditions of good education and associations will continue.

The other type of "leader" we're going to see a lot of are: the relatively uneducated "Stars" of celebrity, who will be promoted and then cut down by the media, to rotate the membership of these "social" leaders. The celebrities are in their own twisted fashion, held up as successes in a perversion of the classic "American Dream", allowing everyone to hope for their own possible good luck and personal *ahem* talents. That will be the common person's leader's, the sports stars, the movie stars, the music stars.

These won't need to spell, their entourages will do all that for them. LOL

We have all kinds of Gursts here...and believe me, everyone's welcome!!!

a name on it.. ;-)

I thought that we were supporting lerts?

Where do these gursts come from???

Lerts we certainly support.

Gursts are tourists from Typoville. We support them too. Heehee

The film is the Scientologist version of Mission Impossible 3
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

I can remember back when if you couldn't read there was something wrong with you.
Now it seems that if you can read there is something wrong with you.
Here is some coffee to go with our deep thoughts.

take your choice.

If 16 year old kids can just about sign their name on a dole cheque, the government think that they've done a good job with the education system.

Most of them are lucky to be able to even do that.

This clever comic epitomizes for me the "Changes in Culture" we've been seeing. LOL

Plus - our pre-nup says that I will get the Ipod if we split......

And still it gets worse. They don't flunk kids that don't learn any more, they just pass them on to someone else all the way through school.

Ms. Moon.....
That is a wonderful parable, and believe it or not, gave me pause to think. I just wonder how the kitties fit in there? They would surely help to fill the jar of life.

Why would you want to put kitties in a jar?!! I am shocked!

I have two Bonsai cats. They are small because my flat is small. It has absolutely nothing to do with not feeding them enough.
