Song from a Secret Garden

Hi Moon of my Moon!

I'm back from my City Market trip, and from my lengthy search for a lamp for my father. I want to six stores and of all places, I finally found it at Walmart. Have you ever had one of these lamps? Touch them on the base once and the light comes on. Touch it twice and it becomes even brighter. Touch it a third time and it shuts back off again. Well my father had a ceremic one of these for years and it finally broke down. I couln't find him a ceramic one but I got him one with a nice metal finish, looks as if it's been machine lathed.

He was surprised, and very happy! Happy is good! :]]

Now that melody, "The Secret Garden" is hauntingly beautiful. Thanks very much for it. It's so elemental in tone that I thought it must have been an old classical piece, but no...it's recently been composed. Wonderful!

I tried to google it to find the composer, but I see some differing interpretations. Do you know, Moon? Is it "Rolf Løvland" or this woman named "Judith Bingham" or this other woman named "Lucy Simon"? There was a broadway musical done of the orginal movie I gather. That's what's confusing me.

I'd love to learn about the original composer. A very talented musician, I'd like to follow the rest of his/her work.

So tell me, if you find out, okay? :]]

This nice metal base one I found wasn't expensive at all. It's just $26 CAD and you screw your own standard light bulb into the base, which is nice. No more fussing to replace those unusual bulbs the old ones had in them. ;]

I just discovered that Old Navy has a great online shopping site: www.oldnavy.com You can order directly from them, a much better selection than even a single large store has.

I just found a pic of the hoodie sweatshirt I bought there yesterday. This is a well-constructed catalog shopping site. :]]

Hei Beets! ;-) Yes, Secret Garden makes wonderful music. I have 3 albums of them, and its all lovely. The composer is Rolf Løvland. On some of the albums there are some few songs with other composers..as nr.19 Last Preset, on the album "Dreamcathcer".. but mainly its all Rolf`s work. They became known when he wond the European song contest for Norway with
Nocturne Cant remember the year ;-)

Hey Ariz!

Would perchance, your rather posh establishment run to a nice glass of port, my favourite tipple. A 20 year old Tawny would be excellent.

Hullo Chris!

Ariz is just not around, right now. I hope her electricity is alright. oOo.

Perhaps I can fill in for her?

That's an excellent suggestion, a nice Tawny! I'm not sure if you prefer the Warre's or the Graham's, but we've got a delighfully rich Graham's in at the moment.

Enjoy!

[Edit]: OH! You're here, Moon of my Moon! Wonderfull! I guess your electricity is still okay then. LOL

Oh! A good choice, the Cockburn's! It's an excellent company from Oporto. The real McCoy! I've got a bottle of Cockburn's 1956 Vintage port, an excellent year. I'm waiting for some special occasion to drink it with a friend or two. :]]

Alright Guys! Not to worry, we're not going all "Upscale" around here. Not to worry!

For anyone who's in the mood, here some good old beer! This here is Michael Buckingham's favorite, Samuel Adams cream stout.

Enjoy, guys! LOL

I presume you mean the Baileys?

Nope, Baileys is a Cream, Irish Mist is made with mead and Irish Whiskey. You should try it. It also makes a great Irish coffee.
