This just in...


Lakshrni, a two year-old girl born with four arms and four legs, just went a successful operation in Bangelor, India, to amputate the extra four appendages.

My question is: why didn't they just leave well enough alone? I think she would have had a very interesting life with the extra four limbs.







Are we taking "normalcy" too far?

Uhhh ... I did not get to hear too much about this, but ... . This was not about normalcy. I believe the term was along the lines of "parasitic (Siamese?) twin." She was endangered. It had to be done.

The limbs weren't amputated. The entire parasitic body was removed at the base of the spine. As it was, the extra limbs were not functional because there was no nerve connections to Lakshmi's brain/spinal cord.

How are you doing? Anything i can fetch for you?

I'm doing fine, I guess, Moon of my Moon! I've had some sleep deprivation mess around with me. I went to watch some television earlier and fell asleep in my chair! EEK!

As a result of waking up late, I've missed Thursday Night dinner at the club. So now I'm starving and I'll have to put together some quick soup and a sandwich I guess.

On booze I'm less fussy than I used to be. I used to like only the most expensive drinks, cognac, champgane, port. But as long as the 'bite' isn't too bad I'll drink just about anything nowadays.


For extra special occasions, this is my favorite: Remy Martin's Cognac aged 100 years, the Fils de Louis XIII cognac in it's distinctive Bacarat crystal decanter. (It's named after a battlefield in a battle that Louis the XIII briefly participated in; the silver decanter original was found there.)

That's very smooth and tasty stuff, a good dessert drink indeed. If you like that Robert, you might also enjoy the rich, heavy smooth taste of "Glayva" a liquer made in Ireland from Honey Mead. That's yummy too!

Sadly, famous self-taught American artist Wayne Thiebaud just died at the age of 87. Thiebaud was best known for his whymsical landscapes such as this one of the City of San Diego.

He'll be missed!
