Message 669175 - Posted: 30 Oct 2007, 0:54:35 UTC - in response to Message 669172.

Good evening all. Good to see you all about. :-) I hope you are all well.

Went for a visit to the hospital again this morning to see my mom. She was awake, well aware I was there. I told her that I was taking care of everything. Her x-ray's are showing very good signs of things clearing up. Mom should only be on the ventalator for maybe another week at the most, if not sooner, if she starts breathing ok on her own.

Anyhow, off to make dinner, and relax. Raining cats and dogs here. See ya all later!

Good to hear another positive update!...She's being well taken care of...And she has a very good son.

Thanks Dan. She does have a very good nursing staff watching over her, these folks in the ICU are one of a kind I tell ya. :-)

@John, thanks buddy. :-)

Don't ask me about Tudors. That all started after my time with Henry Tudor who won the battle of Bosworth and became Henry VII in 1485.

Pardon me for asking, but...

If it all started after your time, how can you be so sure?

I just googled for it

You see? You were the right person to ask, after all!

I hadn't realized that Google was such an ancient Tome!

So...What House did you live in?

Lancaster I think, but it's so long ago, my memory isn't what it was...

It's too bad about your not being in the War of the Roses. Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Black Arrow" was one of my favourite Classics Illustrated Books (Issue No. 31). What an adventure!

Are they still making those? The "Classics Illustrated" comic books? I wonder.

I still have my copy from childhood. :]]

Oooo! I found a box of those in storage just the other day that my Dad had given me many years ago.

Time to wake p, and feel good.

Another bright sunny cloudless day, with temperatures around 12C. Positively tropical, and good for a long walk.

An English friend of mine who works for the police sent me this...

...it's funnier than hell.

You Might Be a Copper if...

You have the bladder capacity of five people.

You have ever restrained someone and it was not a sexual experience.

You believe that 75% of people are a waste of space.

Your idea of a good time is an armed robbery at shift change.

You call for a name check on anyone who is remotely friendly to you.

Discussing dismemberment over dinner seems perfectly normal to you.

You find humour in other people's stupidity.

You have your weekends off planned for a year.

You believe the government should require a permit to reproduce.

You believe that unspeakable evils will befall you if anyone says "God its
quiet today".

Whenever you phone someone, you ask them 'Are you free to speak?'

Your diet consists of food that has gone through more processing than a
computer can track.

You're the only sober person in the kebab house.

You believe chocolate is a food group.

Having alcohol at 7am seems perfectly normal.

You have always wanted to hold a seminar called "Suicide, getting it right
the first time".

You believe "Too stupid to Live" should be a valid court outcome.

When you mention vegetables, you're not referring to a food group.

You think caffeine should be available in IV form.

Your prisoner states "I have no idea how I got here" - and neither have
you.

You end normal conversations with loved ones with Roger or Acknowledged.

You walk down the street looking at people as potential criminal
intelligence submissions

You believe the carpet bombing of certain areas of your beat is a viable
alternative to policing

You believe that some crimes can be sorted out with a damn good kicking.

Your favourite hallucinogen is exhaustion.

You are the only person you know who ever uses the word 'liaise'.

Your partner tells you off for walking with your hands held together behind
your back.

At least once every working day you use the phrase, "The job's f@$#^%!"

You regularly say, "With all due respect, Sir" but mean nothing of the sort.

You have a nose finely tuned to the smells of cannabis, decomposition,
alcohol and stale body odour.

You think Thursday is the best night to go into town for a drink with your
mates.

You nodded and laughed at all of the above!!
