Many wild animals will abandon their young due to a simple touch by another species (often humans). And yet I'll bet that doesn't pose a problem for you. ;) me@rescam.org |

Ever seen cats 'play' with small rodents, Thorin? Even when NOT hungry, they will chase down, capture, and wound mice. Then they will catch & release the mouse over and over again until the mouse finally dies from the torture. Once dead, the mouse frequently is totally ignored and not eaten. |

Ever seen cats 'play' with small rodents Yes, they play rough... Ever play rough with a cat? ;) (I recommend wearing a sock over your arm because the cat is obviously trying to kill you too...) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

Now that is impressive---especially for a sand sculpture... Which leads back to religion, because the muses were goddesses or spirits of the Greek mythology. Seems, Qui-Gon kind of adores you, Fuzzy. ;-) Originally there were but only three muses mentioned: Aoidē ("song" or "voice"), Meletē ("practice" or "occasion"), and Mnēmē ("memory"), but centuries later, the European Renaissance established 9 muses: * Calliope (the "beautiful of speech", chief of the muses and muse of epic or heroic poetry) * Clio (the "glorious one", muse of history) * Erato (the "amorous one", muse of love or erotic poetry, lyrics, and marriage songs) * Euterpe (the "well-pleasing", muse of music and lyric poetry) * Melpomene (the "chanting one", muse of tragedy) * Polyhymnia or Polymnia (the "[singer] of many hymns", muse of sacred song, oratory, lyric, singing and rhetoric) * Terpsichore (the "[one who] delights in dance", muse of choral song and dance) * Thalia (the "blossoming one", muse of comedy and bucolic poetry) * Urania (the "celestial one", muse of astronomy) Account frozen... |

Now that is impressive---especially for a sand sculpture... Ah, Qui-Gon and I have been friends for a very long time, I don't know if he adores me, but yes, we are known each other for a long time and have had a lot of fun together. :-) Exactly, the ideas of the muses supports that thought that spiritual or divine inspiration exists, that inspiration comes from a higher place or source, it's not only your own creativity. This phenomenon is also known from religious sources as revelations. In psychology it's known as the AHA experience, where you suddenly gain an insight in things, you have been pondered on for hours, and suddenly, like a snap of your fingers, BINGO!!! you suddenly get a solution or a whole new understanding of what you were pondering. Naming the different divine sources of inspiration and seeing them as women, well that's nice. :-D We like to be seen as inspirations for men's creativity. ;-D "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me |

No matter how much I practice, I'll never be good enough. Are you trying for batting average or on base percentage? me@rescam.org |
