It would appear the stats page just changed from supporting floating point numbers to integer numbers only. On my page alone that nicked me 73 total credits. Does anyone know if this is a display only change or is this a backend change meaning all my 54.xx WUs will only credit 54.00 now? |

I can confirm this, but the change only affects the stats display, the correct values are still stored - click on any result to see how much credit you really got (or will get). |

Well good to know I'm not going insane.. I don't like unannounced changes like that. (That's the Admin in me :P ) Also good to hear it's cosmetic in nature only. I really like the old way better. Now, if this change is going to make the load easier on the DB servers then I don't mind, but otherwise I would prefer the 2 points of precision. |

It would appear the stats page just changed from supporting floating point numbers to integer numbers only. I suppose they are trying to save ink. You know how important it is to economize these days;) However I would guess that they carry a lot more decimal points than they display, and all will continue to recieve the same credit as before. When we finally figure it all out, all the rules will change and we can start all over again. |

I always thought the ether was there to keep the ink from drying out enroute! I guess it's why my used bit bucket never fills up. When we finally figure it all out, all the rules will change and we can start all over again. |

Yes, I see that now RAC and total credit are given in integers, not to the nearest 100th. That's OK with me. That's exact enough and removes a little clutter. I also see a "Preview" option on these forums. Maybe if I use those hotmetal codes?..... |

I liked It the way It was on the Stats, More Exact, Not rounded off to the nearest whole number. On the Message part, The Preview part is very welcome though, But I'm just a user, So I'll just keep crunching away. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Google got wise to this so, for the energy conscious Google users amongst us, myself included, try this! Cheers, Steve |

It appears that the credits are shown as integers in the "Your Account", "Results for Users", "Pending credits", and "Work unit ID" pages, but the "Result ID" page shows the full precision of claimed and granted credits. The integer results are in fact rounded and not merely truncated, so no need to worry about losing "credit change". |

Ya, maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I liked 2 digits of precision after the decimal. This just feels wrong now :/ |

For individual workunits I think they should still state credit to two decimal places. But for RAC and number of seconds, the nearest integer seems close enough. |

I'm not crazy about this change either, But in any case If It doesn't change It's just something else to get used to. Mark Me as ... The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

You would like it. $54.75 = $55 LOL... Agreed, the downside though is when the accumulated rounding ends up having the individual totals a buck higher than the account total, and thus every so often gives the impression of 'ripping you off' for a buck. ;-) Of course I haven't found a way to get the power company to accept cobblestones to offset part of my bill, and it hasn't proven to be much of an extra effort from a data logging POV yet, so I'm not getting too worked about it. :-D OTOH, if someone wants to compensate me with new hardware of something of that nature, I'll throw a full blown hissy fit over it! ;-) Alinator |
