Here there better not be any "yay's or Nay's" just pure BS.

Feel let down, you can't say your peace in that thread? Say it here.

Astro will start off.

"A general can tell if his troops are happy by the increased complaining"

I'll still run it, but see no reason constructive ideas can't be rendered, opinions can't be offered at the same time one is screaming to tear the walls to the foundation. Key word "constructive". Whining "give me what I want or I'll hold my breath till I turn blue" is a good example of "unconstructive". LOL

I absolutely respect those who want to express their opinions in a more wordy way. I am simply trying to get an opinion from those in this forum if they are gonna stick around no matter what.
I have expressed my dissatisfaction with current status quo as well. I am just trying to keep that thread clean. If you wanna express some other opinion, I am quite alright with that. I am just trying to run a clean opinion poll, please don't diss me for that.
I agree with you otherwise.

I'm not dissing anyone. Having been the author of many a "poll" thread (in fact if you do a search of thread title with the word "poll", you'll see it's the vast majority of them). Many feel the need to add "qualifiers" to their votes. It's my intent to have them put that extra "unwanted in your thread" junk here. Most of my poll thread were before we had "automods" and mods more frequently in attendance to pick up after a thread and delete the unwanted utterings of voters.

for example I said "yay" but feel things can be done differently. Such as how I figured out the x86-64 linux users were being given the wrong app and did something to improve that situation. Sure I wish I hadn't wasted all last weekend running an underperforming app, and did so because that's what was given to stock users for 1/2 the credit of stock windows users. That didn't stop me from saying "yay". I did something about it. Other than just whine.

Just saying "yea" or "nay" is sometimes not enough to express ones true and complete thoughts.

no harm intended.

No harm taken. And I knew there would be additional response needed from some poll responders. That's why I asked that it be done in another thread.
I realized after I made my post that you were simply providing the needed additional venting thread implied in my post. Well done.

And I forgot the the pirates say 'yea' or 'nea'. Also acceptable responses.

LOL, folks, all in good fun.

Do we get extra credit for this?

LOL...

Only problem is BS style points are measured in quatloos.

Then they have to add another honorary score category to your profile. :-)

Mark, I'm seeing a whole lotta "yay's", If someone's already left, they probably won't be voting, so a simple 74 yay's, 20 nay's, might not be as accurate as one would think.

'S not a scientific poll. Surely not accurate. Just a emotional poll of those present.

EDIT....
(Besides, isn't it uplifting to have a positive thread here for a change)?

Isn't this thread more meant for the Cafe????

Kinda seems semi-unrelated to Number Crunching.

Not at all....totally related to the current number crunchin/credits thingy and the dissatisfaction currently running around related to that. If that isn't related to number crunching, I don't know what is........

EDIT...
As long as the discourse stays civil. Which it should.

EDIT EDIT...
Even those who would not venture into the cafe for obvious reasons should have some place to vent their thoughts in a civil manner (as opposed to the ususal Cafe rhetoric).

Consider it a "supplemental" thread to Mark's "poll" thread. If users leave there'll be less "numbers crunched". It's certainly more on topic to NC than a thread about cats and dogs, and that one survived. LOL

However, You're welcome to feel/think the way you do, and to express that at any time.

Agreed, and generally the numbers have been somewhat depressing lately along with the comm problems, so a little lightening of the 'gloom and doom' atmosphere has been a welcome relief.

...scientific poll...

Now *THAT* is an oxymoron.

I hate polls 'cause they are always skewed based on ...
...group asked
...group results are going to be shown to (who do you want to influence)
...method asked (phone, mail, forced, inperson, etc)
...specific LANGUAGE/format of question
...order of questions
...other questions asked
...CHOICE of RESPONSES (one choice should always be "What?")
...people who LIE on polls (like me!)
...people who submit responses more than once!!!
