A teammate has successful his WU´s finished, but he got zero Credit. Why? Is he using the wrong Chicken soup? http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=3653883 |

A teammate has successful his WU´s finished, but he got zero Credit. Why? Is he using the wrong Chicken soup? Well, he's using: R-2.0|QxK|FFT:IPP_SSE|Ben-Joe- that's an old version, but I hadn't previously heard that there was anything particularly wrong about it. The machine is showing some valid results, but the problems seem to have started when the validation comparisons (quorum) were made against v5.23/v5.57 stock apps (for Linux and Windows respectively). Up until last week, my advice would have been to upgrade to Chicken v2.2B - they have, after all, been the best available since February - but it doesn't seem worth it in the middle of the transition to multibeam. Under these particular circumstances, I would delete the app_info.xml file and reset the project. He'll lose any work actually in progress, but since he wouldn't have produced a valid result for it anyway, that's no great loss. He should be issued with the new 5.27 stock app, and any unstarted WUs in his queue should be re-issued (so no additional problem with 'no work sent'). Then, once everything has settled down again, consider re-optimising with the forthcoming (but not yet released) Chicken v2.4 |

Unless there's a crunching error on his side, I would think that he should be able to post under the "Validation Error" thread and request credit. |

For whatever it's worth, I found this posting that suggests that you ran into noisey WU's, since you receive the same message on all the zero's except one. It's interesting to note that the other wingmen didn't see them as noisey. As far as the 'other one' I don't see anything wrong in the results that would suggest a problem. |

Have a look at this WU: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=145846059 Here's a result calculated with setiathome_enhanced 5.23: libboinc: setiathome_enhanced 5.23 Work Unit Info: ............... If he didn't have any errors befor, i would recommend having a look at cpu temperature and testing for a failing memory stick. Join BOINC United now! |
