Under Windows Vista, can not make default browser from Boinc work

Installed Boinc and attached to various projects OK. Then installed Firefox. Set Firefox to be default browser, but when you use Boinc manager to browse project statistics etc, it always loads Internet Explorer. Have booted several times still no luck. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas as to how to fix? My guess is the problem is with Boinc, but am not sure. Boinc Mngr vrs 5.10.13 ID: 614880 ·

Beginning to think you are right, but double clicking on an HTML file does load it into Firefox. ID: 615072 ·

If you are running XP you can try it by clicking Start->Run and telling it to open e.g. http://www.google.com . I don't run Vista but as a workaround for the problem, I've been asked to post this link: http://forums.ceruleanstudios.com/showpost.php?p=695582&postcount=25 From that page: then i believe you want to select the option Set program access and set defaults for this computer choose custom, and expand it and make your changes accordingly, so that it is no longer set to use IE. Note: This is not the same as setting your default browser. In fact, there is no real reason for it to work (but it does). The default selection is "Use my current web browser" (which was already Firefox). Change it specifically to "Mozilla Firefox" and click OK. ID: 624178 ·
