Uhmmm, for once I do not agree with you JM7. At the moment of reporting, the project PC's were running.

The sequence reported happens when the project computers are turned off for a while. There is no need to uninstall, just occasionally do an update to see if they are back.

I would suggest following:
1. Uninstall Boinc
2. Delete everything you have under the Boinc folder
3. Install Boinc, run and attach to the project.

Hope this will help.

You will probably have to merge your hosts afterwards.

Greetings from Belgium.

Help Desk: use "Most recent answer first" sorting.

Had some issues reconnecting to project initially, until I found my backup of my Boinc seti@home account file (from a previous install that worked until the problems last week) but am still unable to connect to the scheduler, even after removing/disabling all firewalls on my computer (including the one in SP2), and was wondering if my host id might be the problem. Here's the what I get in the messages tab when I start up BOINC:

--- - 2004-09-11 00:58:41 - Starting BOINC client version 4.05 for windows_intelx86

SETI@home - 2004-09-11 00:58:41 - Project prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults

SETI@home - 2004-09-11 00:58:41 - Host ID not assigned yet

--- - 2004-09-11 00:58:41 - No general preferences found - using BOINC defaults

SETI@home - 2004-09-11 00:58:42 - Deferring communication with project for 1 weeks, 5 days, 10 hours, 33 minutes, and 43 seconds

--- - 2004-09-11 00:58:55 - Insufficient work; requesting more

SETI@home - 2004-09-11 00:58:56 - Master file fetch failed

SETI@home - 2004-09-11 00:58:56 - Could not contact any schedulers for http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/.

SETI@home - 2004-09-11 00:58:56 - Could not contact any schedulers for http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/.

SETI@home - 2004-09-11 00:58:56 - Deferring communication with project for 1 weeks, 1 days, 3 hours, 4 minutes, and 22 seconds

Does any of this lend some clues to whats wrong?

Thanks
Rudy

Here's my PC specs:

Home built PC with AMD Athlon running at 1330mhz
512mb RAM
Windows XP SP2 (installed service pack before switch to Boinc from classic)
Seti@home on BOINC (previously seti@home classic)
Tried both 4.05 & 4.08
And I'm running on Verizon DSL through a BEFW11S4 Linksys wireless-b router
