Message 604945 - Posted: 17 Jul 2007, 10:32:37 UTC - in response to Message 604830.

Further:

All of my posts here are in the form of questions. I have never been political and am prone to make mistakes similar to those of younger persons. I have used catch phrases and promises of payment for proof against because I don't know for sure. I will debate with you but there are always two sides to every story. I may very well be wrong in much, if not all of what I post but can only learn by having people respond to my posts. I am not anti American. I am not a Communist sympathizer. I'm just looking for answers to my questions.

I don't want to fight with anyone for any reason, though I can be grumpy when attacked. I realize many people can't help me in this quest for knowledge and can't put down in writing what I'm looking for, but you must realize I am not an enemy. I love my country. Otherwise I wouldn't question things.

Sorry if the topics pain people. They pain me too!

learn this. socialism does not work. i was in east germany 3 months after the wall fell. what a mess it was. still bomb damage in east berlin. bullet holes in the reichstag ect. the autobons had not had been maintained since ww II. not a bulding had even been painted. and i still dont see anybody trying to escape from the u.s. even tho i wish some of them would. and dont believe those clips you put on for the rest of us because it seems that you are a mouthpiece for the left unless you have seen these birth defects, ect with your own eyes.
.
Well - I can also explain you this if you want. And I don't know which parts of Germany you've seen when you've been there. Maybe it's your impression because you expected nothing better, maybe you really saw only the ugly parts. When I visit New York City and only see the Bronx I also will be heavily disappointed of Big Apple.

i have seen the west and i have seen the east. and boy what a difference. plus i have never seen a begger in the west. and also several of my western friends were so disappointed in their eastern friends and family because it seems that they forgot to work and compete thanks to their wonderful social enviorment.

DEPLETED URANIUM ALERT!

The complicated debates concerning the health effects of DU (both radiological effects and heavy metal toxicity).

The official views are neatly debunked by DU experts, including ex-US Army whistle blowers.'

The uranium and its radioactive decay products will remain toxic for over 4 billion years...and will slowly destroy the genetic future of the Iraqi people.

If you want info about DU without all the hyperbole, hysterics, and Helen "Won't somebody pleeeeeeeeeeeeeze think of the children" Lovejoyisms, take a look:

Wikipedia.

As far as it being a war crime (heh) same thing, scroll down, or:

Legal status in weapons.

By way of comparison:

Damn hell ass iron

And that is handed out in pills to actually ingest. No one actually eats DU. Well, maybe a few people do. And there might be a few idiots that should eat a lot.

Now, I'm not a doctor, but I've played one on TV. My advice? Don't eat DU powder, unless you're really hungry, or unless you really want to teach them 'Mericans a lesson but good--really fix their hash. Oh, and don't drink gasoline either. Unlike DU, that murderous, poisonous compound actually is everywhere.

But millions of iron pills are eaten on purpose every day, even though those heavy metals are a killer.

Decide for yourself. Having a balanced perspective makes that much easier.
Cordially,
Rush

Wow. Kinda like Fat Man and Little Boy did, with a whole Jeebus-load of actual radiation in 1945. Slowly destroyed the genetic future of the Japanese people.

Oh, wait, sorry. No it didn't. Those are hustling bustling cities now. Never mind.

Depleated Uranium is used for more than just ammo. In fact they are used in most aircraft as a counterweight for control surfaces. Do you see airline passengers dropping dead because of it? NO. Do you see mechanics who have worked with aircraft control surfaces dropping dead? NO. Personally as an Aircraft Mechanic in training I have handled it and am I dead or in any way harmed? NO.

It is mostly harmless unless consumed in large quantities. Only harmful when consumed.

Mr. Gray you seem wrongfully informed on this matter.

Leave it to the left to bemoan a war to remove a tyrant demogog from power, then to hide behind their "love of our troops" while saying screw you too civilians the libs want to leave to the hands of terrorists by making the US pullout...

and then, now, to top it all off.. they say they don't want us to use the very weaponry that gives the USA the best kill to death ratio in the history of warfare..

who, pray tell, exactly are the left rooting for?

Time will tell, popandbob,

What is the source of your data concerning Alpha, Beta, and Gamma radiation poisoning? I choose to believe the US Military Soldiers over paperwork in this matter. See movie below.

As you've said in the death penalty thread: "People dont care enough about what goes on as long as it doesn't affect themselves."

30,000 Veterans file class action suit against VA in California, yesterday, I believe.

Then I'm sure you have some evidence for causation? Because, rest assured, they certainly do not. I mean, most of the POL in a tank, would kill soldiers very quickly, in less quantities than DU would.

Gasoline, explosives, lubricants, et cetera are all generally quite poisonous, that's why soldiers don't eat them. Really, the DU is the least of their worries if they're going to start eating crap like that.

Oooh, a class action. That must mean for sure it's true, right?

At least it demands further investigation. Not everything a government tells the citizens is true.

Also as another little tidbit of information I know someone who has worked with lead their whole life. He is now retired and in his mid sixties. The doctors have said throughout his life that he has 4 times over the leathal limit of lead in his body. He is still alive and well.

The human body has a way of dealing with these things as long as its not a sudden wooosh of the substance at high levels of absorbsion.

Duh. Yet you seem to want it to control everything.

Regardless, here the point wasn't that the gov't was lying or not, it was what rational basis did Gray have for "choose[ing] to believe the US Military Soldiers over paperwork." In other words, why was he choosing to believe something about eeeevil DU, when any number of substances that people (and soldiers) are exposed to every day are significantly more likely to kill them.

Drink gasoline and you'll probably die. Same thing if you eat some high explosive from an anti-tank round. Same thing if you drink the crankcase oil. Inhaling diesel fumes. All of these things are substantially more deadly if ingested by humans than DU.

If I bought you an airline ticket, transportation, food, and lodging, to a DU impact site, would you go walk through it with the same protection provided to our troops?

Without hesitation. None.

Just like I would walk through a puddle of gasoline or oil: carefully.
