The BOINC website is for all boinc users.

If you're talking about that website, then use your email addy and the KEY they sent you. Then when you login change your password. I think you might be confusing the "key" they sent with "the password", they're different.

Teams are managed and changed from the project website, not the Boinc website.

Thanks for clarifying that. I should have said the BOINC website is for issues related to BOINC in general and not the individual projects.

I want to log in to BOINC but it keeps saying I'm entering the wrong password or login name. I have received an email from BOINC telling me my login name and password, but they don't me any good.

I want to change the BOINC team that I'm on and I figure that I have to be logged in to do that.

I have looked for a way to ask help from BOINC about this problem, but I can't seem to find an email address to ask this type of question to. I have tried posting in their forum, but I have to login and I can't do that.

You don't change your team at BOINC, you change it here. Each project has it's own settings. The BOINC login is only for alpha and beta testers of the actual BOINC software, not any of the projects that are run under BOINC.

Just click on "Your Account" at the top of this page to check your information and make any changes you want to any of it. Save it and you are set to go. If you are already logged in to the forums you won't even have to log in again.
