Seem to remember that one of BOINC's unique selling points in it it early days was the concept of a single command client handling mltiple projects. The cobblestone would be a universal unit of processing effort allowing centrally accrued credit for all projects. Have to say that I feel rather let down as the shape of the multiple project thing finally becomes clear and we see stats tables run by the individual project teams but no master stats. Is there any possibility now of some unification in the future? Without it the smaller projects are dead in the water; all the serious fun crunchers are going to be concentrating on one particular league. |

Hello TheBalrog, I am really sure you will see 'master stats' and project spanning leagues in the future. Only this will not be the business of Berkeley's scientists. This will be done by stats sites like BOINC.DK. The concept for realizing this was created by Janus and Berkeley team in the past. It is related to the CrossProjectIDentifier (CPID). You can find it in the BOINC documentation. There is only one other real BOINC project online (but in alpha status). So I think we have time to wait until this think is going round. And beside this, before the project spanning stats come I personal would like to see the team stats working. ;-) Greetings from Bremen/Germany Jens Seidler |
