... A year later, it was on the market... Not quite as good as the product I had envisioned, but close enough to know that it was based off of my idea, right down to the product name... Go figure... Then build it, sell it. Nothing is stopping you. Why you would do something as stupid as submit your swell idea to a public, gov't website without getting a patent first is beyond my comprehension. Then build it, sell it. Nothing is stopping you. Except for not having a million dollar manufacturing plant at my disposal... Yea, imagine that! Why you would do something as stupid as [snip] Trust those who out rank me? Yes, that was pretty stupid... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

It is not PC to say so, but I think that any culture/religion that sanctions the murder of it’s own children is a culture in need of self-examination Please clarify. (Not trying to be facetious) However there are plenty of children and parents in the US who live in poverty. And not by choice. I Desire Peace and Justice, Jim Scott (Mod-Ret.) |

Please clarify. (Not trying to be facetious) This is the first time in the history of america where children are not living better than their parents did, and in some cases, the parents are even outliving their children... The overall standard of living is not increasing as it always has, but it is now decreasing... When was the last time someone living in a big house with a big yard went to visit their grandparents who live in a studio apartment? Usually, it's the other way around... Apartment complexes are popping up everywhere, while retirement homes are becoming a thing of the past... Of course, there are exceptions to every rule... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

Except for not having a million dollar manufacturing plant at my disposal... Yea, imagine that! Almost no one on earth has such a thing, yet those with such good ideas manage to have those good ideas produced every single day. Why? Because one need not be the personal owner of a million dollar manufacturing plant, nor even have the capital to hire one to have good ideas produced. Why you would do something as stupid as submit your swell idea to a public, gov't website without getting a patent first is beyond my comprehension. That's exactly what I said. You utterly failed to protect your idea, and in fact, your actions suggest that you intended to give your idea away for free. Yet now you complain about the obvious results. Good plan. Please clarify. (Not trying to be facetious) Thanks. In my great grandparents time however Families built and lived in large multigenerational homes. I Guess that now children just want to leave home as soon as possible. ;-] |

You utterly failed to protect your idea My greatest disappointment in life came when I realized that the people above me were not better than me, mentally, physically, nor spiritually... And that 'rank' was nothing more than the devils stamp of approval to do corruption in the land... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

"They are just enjoying themselves just like everyone else" is a dangerous rationale when it comes to depravity. Consider the possibilities... I am 6 feet tall, 300 lbs and look like I have had a bit of muscle in the past. 2 foot surgeries and laying on the couch recovering for 2 years tends to pile on the pounds. I am one of those people in this World that is on the larger side of humanity physically. Few people would consider "kicking sand in my face" and those that do, do not want to make me really mad. I would rather walk away than fight and in fact have had very few in my life. I once had a guy come at a full run and jump onto my back while I was standing still trying to knock me over. I just stood there, grabbed his legs and said "now what?". We were both co-workers so nothing further happened. Another guy at work once got mad and came at me when I was sitting in a lazy boy style chair watching Sunday Football. He ended up stuffed behind the couch with me sitting on the couch keeping him back there. I have lifted weights in the past, but stopped because my clothes stopped fitting and I never found the limits of my strength. I got worried I would end up like Arnold! I was once even asked by a sponsor to do the Iron Man Tournaments. I said no because I LOVED being a firefighter, and it would have taken me away from that. I was on the cover of an International magazine one time. I was even offered a bit part roll in a movie once too. |

Okay Mikey...YOU WIN! I don't want to brawl with a 300 pound strongman. You think I'm nuts or sumptin'?? You're beginning to sound as if you're taking some of this banter personally. That isn't my intention at all. I'm just fooling around, having some fun. When you think about it, my proposal that men should be wearing muslim-style veils down to beyond their navels, is totally ridiculous to begin with. ;) So...I'm getting outta here before I get hurt! You shouldn't posture here, you don't know who you are dealing with. That's all I will say. We are in virtual reality, and what would happen if you pushed your position in somebody's face might not be pretty. Let's just keep a civil tongue, and eveybody gets out of here alive. Okay Mikey...YOU WIN! I don't want to brawl with a 300 pound strongman. NO NO NO, I do not take things personally here at Seti!!!!! I was just trying to say why I do not worry too much in my life. I do not travel down to the worst part of town, I try to stay away from trouble areas and just live my life in a way that is comfortable for me. I am a peace loving person but when angered can be a force to deal with. I have been told I have the patience of Job. I once held a guy, the same one I stuffed behind the couch, for over 10 minutes while he took swings at me. His arms are much shorter and everytime he swung I pushed his shoulder and his fist came around and missed me by several inches. We 'danced' like this for over 10 minutes. He was sooooo angry and got even more angry with every missed punch! At the end I started laughing at him, which made him even more angry. |

Mikey..... Posturing is not me, I was just trying to say why I was not concerned about the "sand in the face". I am sorry if you got the wrong impression out of my words. I am a very nice guy and will ALWAYS try to talk my out of a problem before I walk away from it. The few times I have gotten angry, people have gotten hurt. I gave one guy 7 stitches. I do not relish that part of me and try to keep it away from the public. I will often agree to disagree or even agree with anothers point of view, just to stop the escalation of something. What I think in my own mind is irrevelant at that moment. I can bring up old conversations many, many times until I understand why you feel the way you do. My wife yells at me for doing this with her mom. My mother-in-law just does some things I do not understand the rational behind, so we talk, she gets angry, justifing your actions is not an easy thing for most people, and then later on we talk about it again, after she both calms down. My problem is I am fairly smart too, at least I like to think so. That makes for an interesting perspective on my part. |

I don't know that UCBerkeley has a similar document to that, but it would be interesting to find out. ;) That said, I personally have no complaints with Eric, who I think has done an excellent job leading these forums, on top of all his other duties. |

I can understand why mothers want to move their families out. ;) Maybe you should save on prison expenses and just move your convicted white-collar criminals into the 'Hood. That'll keep them busy! LOL |
