Opinions on the best FREE antivirus?

OK, a glib comment about "free anti-virus" is simply not to have any "anti-virus" in the first place. Then it's completely free and also free of hassle! Yeah, we know. Linux is more secure. MAJOR PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ------> LINUX IS LESS COMPATIBLE Checking around at LinuxCompatible, I curiously find that my Creative Labs SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeGamer is not supported. Going over to Creative's web site, I find that, UH-OH, there's no driver for it under Linux. DOH! Hmmm... That got me looking some more. I have a Logitech MX Revolution mouse. DOH! No driver for it either. Logitech also doesn't provide a driver. DOH! ...Happy Codin'? That list is far from complete. If the manufacturer has followed any common standards, or the device is widely used enough that someone has been interested enough to get it working, then it should 'just simply work' or you'll be able to find instructions to get it working. It may well be worth just giving it a try to see what happens. Seriously, try asking the manufacturer for a driver. As the web page shows it covers anti-virus and anti-spyware, and comes with a 30 day free trial. You still need pop up blockers, etc, and the router hardware firewall should be OK for other protection. Later this year NOD32 will offer a firewall as well.
