Message 586452 - Posted: 13 Jun 2007, 22:48:42 UTC

I have been noticing a lot of people in their user profile, that they have all the other BOINC projects listed under their user profile... I was wondering do I have to email someone to get that same info under my profile?

No you do not have to email any one. Pick a project or three or 10 to crunch for from the list of some of the available projects at the main BOINC site and their corresponing url address for attaching at:
http://http://boinc.berkeley.edu/projects.php

Another place to locate a list of projects and also get statistics is at the BOINCstats site:
http://www.boincstats.com/index.php?pr=bo

Hi russkris,

I'm fairly certain that the other project will only show up im your account page if you used the same email across all projects, since the email address is the "primary key" among BOINC-powered projects.

Wander

I checked BoincStats site for your username. It has 7 separate listings of your name. This would tend to indicates that you do not have a common email address on the different projects you are crunching for. In comparison I'm only listed once with all my projects under the one username.

I would double check each project site to see what email you have for your accounts. Check for the slightest variance that could make it appear as a different address.

When you look at your account preferences, you see almost at the bottom an item: Cross-project Statistics. One of the links there is BOINCstats. These leads to your personal stat-page.
On this page you see: URL for user signature graphic. This URL can be copied in your sig.

Thats how I did it.

Apart from using the same email id, make sure it is in lowercase on all websites. Some projects convert it to lowercase themselves and some don't and that makes a difference to the CPID.

Also, there should be an overlap of projects on the pc's you are running. If you are running 3 projects on 2 pc's for example set them up the following way at least for a week or so.

PC 1
Project A and B

PC 2

Project B and C

If you have a pc running more than one project and another running only 1 project the CPID will never synchronise.

Well, I guess the other forum members have already covered what I was going to say :)

Let us know if any of it helps, ok?

I have never run 2 BOINC projects on the one machine before, ever... Always 1 project at 1 time on 1 machine.

The email address I use is the same email address I use for all BOINC projects, and as a matter of habit I alway enter email addresses in lower case.

EDIT: I check most of the projects I crunch or have crunched and all the emails are the same, but the CPID is different in all of them

OK I have been throught all my BOINC projects and everytime I entered my email it came back and said there was no change from the old one....

So I have made sure everything is the same username etc even down to the postcode..

So I assume I will have to wait a day or so, for stats updates and things like that

Bingo, you just solved the problem. "the CPID is different in all of them" The CPID must be the same for all of your project information to be shown. In order for the CPID's to combine you will have to run multiple projects on one or more of your computers. I don't think you have to run project A and B on one computer and then B and C on another. Simple run all of them on one computer for about a week. That will allow the system to merge all of the CPID into one.

Also remember to use the bbcode as the last item in text box. This should be yours.

if the that is your user code.

Well that didn't work. You will need to type [ followed by img then ] then the boincstats url that you will find on your boincstats page this followed by an [ then / then img then ]. Hope this displays ok.

No just run them all of the projects at the same time. Attach all of the projects to one computer and let that one computer run for a week with all of the projects attached.

I am pretty sure that you will have to complete at least one WU before the system will fully acknowledge your attachment.
