Does anyone know what is causing this error?

6/12/2007 4:02:15 PM|SETI@home|[error] State file error: duplicate app version: setiathome_enhanced windows_intelx86 513
6/12/2007 4:02:15 PM|SETI@home|[error] State file error: duplicate app version: setiathome_enhanced windows_intelx86 514
6/12/2007 4:02:15 PM|SETI@home|[error] State file error: duplicate app version: setiathome_enhanced windows_intelx86 515
6/12/2007 4:02:15 PM|SETI@home|[error] State file error: duplicate app version: setiathome_enhanced windows_intelx86 517

I keep getting it on one computer only. I when ahead removed Bonic with the windows remove program, physically deleted the entire folder, emptied the recycle bin then reinstalled. I still get this dkuplicate app error. Computer seems to keep crunching ok, but not upto it's normal speed.

Any suggestions?

Ah- you are running Chicken Good, and attempting to run one of the 5.10.x versions of Boinc. I've reported this 2 or 3 times (no repsonse). This is one of the new "features".

If you edit the app_info file so that it only has one version, the 515 version you problem should go away.

This is mine and I've been running bonic 5.10.4 since it came out with no problems.

<app_info>
<app>
<name>setiathome_enhanced</name>
</app>
<file_info>
<name>KWSN_2.2B_SSE2-P4_Ben-Joe_GFX.exe</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>
<app_version>
<app_name>setiathome_enhanced</app_name>
<version_num>515</version_num>
<file_ref>
<file_name>KWSN_2.2B_SSE2-P4_Ben-Joe_GFX.exe</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
</app_version>
</app_info>

It is a feature.

The problem is: version 5.15 is the current version. The appinfo.xml file says that the optimized application will be good for 5.15, for 5.16, and for 5.17.

Since 5.16 and 5.17 are not yet released, the appinfo.xml file is predicting the future.

See this thread for more information.

I'm still running 5.9.12 although I am aware that BOINC is now up to 5.10.5 for Windows x86.

I will probably update again in the next few days once the SETI servers settle down again.

Rom Walton, believes he's "REALLY" close to pushing out a new "recommended release", if you want to wait a couple more days to avoid frequent changes.
