Message 573745 - Posted: 22 May 2007, 13:48:43 UTC - in response to Message 573314.

Check Message 572237 (this thread, yesterday).

I think you only get internal server error when it actually tries to allocate work. If it doesn't allocate work (congestion, quota) the problem doesn't arise.

I'm afraid my canary isn't looking very chirpy.

Okay. It'll have to wait until tomorrow to corroborate.

Confirmed. It is not working yet.

My app_info.xml looks like this:
<app_info>
    <app>
        <name>setiathome_enhanced</name>
    </app>
    <file_info>
        <name>Optimized_Client_filename</name>
        <executable/>
    </file_info>
    <app_version>
        <app_name>setiathome_enhanced</app_name>
        <version_num>515</version_num>
        <file_ref>
            <file_name>Optimized_Client_filename</file_name>
            <main_program/>
        </file_ref>
    </app_version>
</app_info>

It's running smooth.
I'm not saying it works because of this, I'm saying it also works like this. ;)

I've yet to have any problems with optimized apps. Just install and runs like a dream, no renameing or anything.

Renaming of the app_info.xml file was done when It was needed, Now It isn't needed I don't think, But I'm leaving all mine as they are as I don't see a need to use an app info file right now.

I chose to make the app info file active again in all of my rigs, so that should they run out of work they will not revert back to the stock app.

Hi Guys,

I was very doubtful about this app_info.xml renaming/removal procedure, but after reading your posts I had to try it. But now it seems the guys at UCB fixed whatever problem that was preventing the servers to deliver work to hosts using the anonymous platform scheme. I already reverted all my rigs back to their "natural" state with the app_info.xml file in its place, and all is working just fine.

Regards,
Wander

yeah.
No problems here. I did not even know there was a problem. :D
I just turn on allow down loads every so often and check the messages.
If nothing coming across then turn it back off.
Today, it just loaded up... time to restart the farm. :)

My app_info file has been in the Recycle Bin since 19/05/2007 (19 May).

I have been crunching optimized SETI at 25% resource share, recently increased back to 40%. I have not run out of SETI WUs since then.

I have had a few ghost WUs even without the app_info file. 2 on SETI main and at least 1 on Beta. I have NEVER used an app_info file on SETI Beta.

I recently upgraded to BOINC 5.9.12 from 5.8.15, heve been running this for a few days. The setiathome_5.15_windows_intelx86 and associated files were re-downloaded yesterday along with 8 WUs, but BOINC has not started crunching these yet.
