Running chicken apps again apparently with no problem...this was after a personal discussion with Eric

Blurf: Was this a workaround on your computers (app_info etc...) or is a fix in place @ Berkeley to correct this issue?

Sorry missed this Chicken.

All of a sudden while on the phone with Eric it worked. Worked without the chicken app--went back to the chicken app and it worked.

Today however I'm getting http errors w/ and w/out Chicken App

It should be working now, although we are likely to be low on available work.

I gave up, uninstalled boinc completely, cleaned out the directories, did a fresh install of the stock boinc client, and now...... "access to reference site succeeded- project servers may be temporarily down."

It's not too many computers, it's a lack of circuit breakers for this room. But we can fix it :)

I'm finding uploads & downloads are good, but contacting the Scheduler takes 3 or more attempts before i get a good response.

I am sure this is mostly now traffic related. See my 'out of the woods' post in NC. Beats the heck outta 100 attempts with no response and a bunch of ghosts, eh?

OK.
Uploads are now good. Contacting the Scheduler now gets a response on the first go. But now i'm getting "No work from project" messages even though there is more work ready to send then there has been for the last 4 days (when i could get the work no problems; once the Scheduler eventually responded).

Well,

it really seems like we're "over the hump", so to speak - all my hosts have consistently been able to upload, download and report, with very reasonable speed. Reports and uploads especially have dramatically accelerated after the recent network tweaks. Also, my hosts on Beta have received and reported work again, so all is well with my little farm.

A round of applause for managing to get by so long and so well on so little - takes a lot of dedication.

Regards,
Simon.

Dunno, you guys must be unlucky :o)

All my hosts just got work again (though there was a period of "no new work"), so whatever it is, it seems to be (at least partially) fixed.

Simon.

He did it again!
The network traffic is back down to zero again.

I think the Chicken needs gagging if the servers are to have any hope of survival.

Everytime he says how good things are, they die.
I don't think that's helping it's survival.

I'll see if I can do something about this:

Hopefully this should remedy matters. We shall see...

Nah, it'd be wise to that.
