Project wu times, Which has the shortest ?

I usually run seti,

Started Einstein again, it downloaded 5 wu's estimates 40:35 to complete each wu.

Any other projects have wu's that run quicker ?

chess960 has wu that run a couple min on a modern machine.

With Rosetta, you can set the run time as short as 1 hour.

Pirates@home’s WUs are also very short, on the order of a quarter-hour or less, depending on the app. But work is very sporadic there, so it’s not a suitable project for keeping your processors warm.

On a Core 2 Duo 1.8 Ghz:

ABC @ home takes around 30 minutes.
Tanpaku takes a couple of hours.
Riessel Sieve about an hour and a quarter.
Neuron takes about 2 hours.
SpinHenge takes about an hour.
Malaria Control takes about an hour and a half.
SZTAKI takes a couple of hours.
SIMAP takes about an hour and a half.
Prime Grid takes about a quartef of an hour.
CPDN takes about 110 days.
Docking takes about 1.5 hours.
Leiden varies from 15 minutes to 15 hours.
Rosetta is settable in hour increments.
QMC takes a couple of days.

Careful with this one. I've seen them go for days. Very unpredictable.
Prime Grid takes about a quartef of an hour.

This one is a good candidate if you want a very quick, predictable turn around time.

Xtreme Lab also has some real short WU's, been a while since I crunched any though.

Rosetta and Malaria are 2 of my favorites, they both have a very good reason to crunch for. And as others said, Rosetta you can set to go for 1 hour up to 22 or 23 I believe. I just changed my to 6 hours per WU.

Seti Enhanced Beta WU's take about 4 hours on my machine. Thats all I've been getting from there lately. There is an app_info.xml file that Misfit posted so you can get nothing but AstroPulse WU's.

Lots and lots of projects out there. One thing I really like about the design of BOINC, you have ton's and ton's of options available to satisfy your crunching needs.

Indeed. My G5 Mac has two WUs at the moment: one of them has been running for 207 hours and is showing 80% done; I suspended the other after 30 h (still showing 0%) to give the first one a better chance of making the deadline.

My Prime Grid's WU's run in the 3 1/4 minute range.

This one is representative of my others: http://www.primegrid.com/orig/result.php?resultid=13561508

I saw the same thing on my iMac, I said heck with that and dumped it for abc@home beta.

They have a new app version out, which initial tests apparently indicate to be three times as fast (or one-third as slow!) as the previous. Of course that’s no help for the tasks I’ve already started—but you might want to give them another try.
