Hi Vavra, the Message log you posted before shows that you use a preferences override file, (called global_prefs_override.xml io the BOINC directrory), probably having settings which conflicts with your disk space. There are two ways to solve your issue: 1. Exit BOINC and rename (or delete) this file, so that your web based preferences take affect (which you probably have set before according to my first post). Then restart BOINC 2. Exit BOINC and edit this file with an plain text editor (like notepad). Change the values for <disk_max_used_gb>___</disk_max_used_gb> <disk_max_used_pct>___</disk_max_used_pct> <disk_min_free_gb>___</disk_min_free_gb> to e.g. what i've suggested in my first post (keep in mind that there might be several settings for different venues in this file), save the file (make sure it keeps it original name), then restart BOINC (a description of global_prefs_override.xml can be found here. Either one of that should work. If not, please let us know if you have this file in your BOINC folder or not (and paste its content here) and copy & paste the new messages form the messages tab. Hi guys, after I reinstaled the boinc and finish another job I receive the same message as before (on top of this page). Not enough disk space. It is getting prettz annoying, to reinstall boinc after each work is finished, because nothing else is working. I can change the preferences to anything, but it does not work. Any help with that??? Thany in advance |

Hi guys, thank you for your help. I've try all of it, but the one only thing which worked was complete reinstalation of boinc. Although at the first sight I got the same message, but after a minute it vent through and I received another work. Well I just hope it will not be the same problem after I finish this work. We'll see. However thanx again. |

Hi Vavra, Hehehe... But good catch with the preference override file... dunno, if it's in use though, since BOINC is likely always showing up this message, if it's empty or not, so you never know... |

Hi Vavra, I see you have pretty big WU cache (10 days worth), but I can think of two reasons why you're getting this message: - The BOINC client got a little confused and is misinterpreting your disk space requirements. Simply restarting should clear it (if you have a single user installation, just close - click FILE/EXIT - and restart BOINC Mgr, or if you have service intallation, open the Services app in the Control Panel/Administrative Tools) - Your preferences are no longer enough to hold that much data. Although you have over 15GB of free space, SETI/BOINC is only allowed to use a portion of it. To find out how much that is, you must check your Disk Usage settings in the General Preferences page. Here's my settings as an example: Use at most 1 GB disk space Leave at least 0.001 GB disk space free Use at most 50% of total disk space Once you update and save it, make sure you update your host by opening the BOINC Mgr and selecting the SAH project in the Projects tab and hitting the update button. Since you appear to be using a local preferences files, I'm not sure these changes will take effect unless you remove the file and restart BOINC. Regards, Wander |

Hi Vavra, this can be fixed in your general preferences. There is a section for disk and memory usage with the following items: Use at most 5 GB disk space Leave at least (Values smaller than 0.001 are ignored) 0.1 GB disk space free Use at most 90% of total disk space To edit these values, click on the "edit preferences" link at the bottom of that page. I would suggest to set these values like in the example above. Then click the "Update preferences" button at the bottom of this page, open BOINC manager -> advanced view -> projects tab, hilight Seti@home in the right hand list and click update on the left. Is it working now? HTH Andy |
