Alright it works now =) Downloaded a SSSE3 Core 2 thing... Extracted it... Then doubled clicked the exe.. and uhm.. It just made a couple files, I'm guessing something is running in the background =)

It probably isn't. When you extracted, it should have made a few folders, one of which should have been called "Files to install". All files in this folder must be place inside the \\BOINC\\projects\\setiathome.berkeley.edu folder. Remember to exit out of BOINC Manager (or stop the BOINC service if it's installed that way) before you move the files into the folder. Then restart BOINC after they're copied.

I know this is a terrible way to start, but it seems you joined just after a schedules outage (there is one every tuesday). The project is back online now, but it takes some time to handle all the backlogged requests of thousands of computers all around the world.

Right now, I'm also experiencing some problems to DL from SAH. Don't worry, you should be able to download them eventually.

BTW, since you're starting from scratch, may I suggest you to use an optimized app? They're designed to run faster that the app provided by Berkeley, but will deliver the same science. If you're interested check the New Optimized Apps Links -- READ ONLY THREAD thread, where you can download the correct app and start crunching with best possible app for your computer.

Alright, well it still doesn't work right now, don't know if it should be or not, and I looked at that thread you linked me too, from what I can see, it's all for linux? I don't see anything there that's for a Core2 Duo user that's using windows.

Everybody is still having problems with file transfers. It should be back to normal by now, but I think something went wrong. We just have to wait until the staff manages to put things back together.

About the optimized apps, you saw the linux apps because those are the latest release. If you dig down in the thread you'll see link for Windows apps, or just visit lunatics homepage and follow the links.
