Switch to the advanced view. Under the activity menu, which items have bullets or check marks next to them? If it does not already have it checked, click on "Run Based on Preferences". To get back to the simple view, do View -> Simple View. However, there are known issues with fast user switching. Only the user with desktop 0 gets monitored. BOINC WIKI |

Hi Trevor, Am I right to assume you're using BOINC's simple view? I think that's the case since you mentioned using the customized settings for you machine. I never actually used the simple view interface or its customized settings, but from your description, your computer should be crunching for SAH only when idle. Have you tried restarting BOINC after saving your custom settings? If that doesn't work, I'll try to walk you through a more involved process to try solve your problem, OK? Let us know how it goes. Regards, Wander |

How did you install BOINC: Single user? Multi-User? Service install? How are you setting the preferences for idle time? Online through the web interface or through the Simple View's Preferences button? |

I am running BOINC 5.8.16 and coincidentally or not since Windows XP Pro was repaired on my computer the setiathome_5.15_windows_intelx86.exe process wants to continuously run at 95+% even while the computer is being used. I have adjusted customized the settings in the program to only run when idle and I have checked my general preferences at they are also set to only run after 3mins of being idle. I have reinstalled BOINC after uninstalling it twice now with the same results. Anyone knows how to resolve this issue or can offer any suggestions? Thanks |
