When openning BONIC for the first time, the window is virtually not there; e.g. title bar with only the word BONIC and the min/max/close buttons, no user window nothing else. After resizing to enlarge to see the contents of the window, it will remain at those settings even if closed and reopened. However, if you shutdown/restart, the BONIC window is ultra-minimized as described above.

Can someone explain/provide solution to keeping the "resize" for subsequent shutdown/closings? Thanks JReeves

Try resize Boinc manager. Quit Boinc using File menu - Exit.
Restart Boinc. It should remember its size. Location is not remembered and is usually slightly off.

This has started happening to mine also...since I started running app 5.8.15. Lots of other weird stuff also going on with this new version.

Thanks...retried this; then shutdown totally, restarted and opened Bionic; same situation--only a piece of the title bar shows. Cheers JReeves

Agree; however, I've experienced this situation in earlier versions (5.2.13 abd 5.4.11) of Bionic.

Same problem on Windows 2000 Pro and Windows XP Pro both OS's with all Service Packs and latest updates.

Apparently, if you leave the Bionic Window open and shutdown, it will retain the latest size; however, if you minimize the window to the system bar, it retains the size on the system bar at the bottom of the screen. Cheers JReeves

The only anomaly of this kind I'm getting is if I maximize the window, it reverts to the default size of the Simple GUI when I restore it rather than remembering the last size I had set for it.

Other than that I can't duplicate these findings on either 9x or 2K.

Strange.

i 'sometimes get that MINIMAL BOINC Mgr Screen bar - it always happens whenever i *click* on it on the task bar and ACTUALLY do two clicks instead of one - which in turn - i have to resize it . . .

(my settings for the Logitech Marble is set @ High on 'Mouse Properties' (Motion - Cursor Speed and Acceleration) . . .

I have found that if you get everything sized as you wish in the advanced view, then select the GUI view for just a few seconds and go back to the advanced view then viola......sizes for the advanced view are saved.

Works for me anyway.

Bingo!!! I was able to duplicate this on 5.8.15.

If you have the Manager window open or minimized to the Task Bar, and then log off the account or shut down the machine, when BOINC restarts the next time the Manager will open to the desktop minimized 3x style.

I could work around that by minimizing to the System Tray before logging off or shutting down, and then BOINC would remember both the size and location.

<edit> One other minor anomaly, the Tray icon doesn't go away when you exit from the file menu or the context menu until you come back and hover over it.
