I jus jus did a fresh installation of Bonic 5.8.15 client on one of my laptops. The problem is Bonic is not reporting the completed work units back to seti on its own. I have close to 15 work units completed with message ready to report. If i do an update manually the work units are acknowledged. I never had this problem with Bonic 5.4.9 client. All my settings seem fine, 'network activity is always available', 'run always' Anybody else having a similar problem. |

Leave it alone, it will report. 5.8.x has fixed some if the issues with reporting too soon. It will report when one of a few things happen: 1: Get new work. 2: It's 24 hours or less to due time. 3: The time you have set in "Connect to network every" comes up. More results to report is good, means less database hits. Database hits are hard on the server. If you report 1 or 20, the hit is about the same (maybe a few seconds longer), but it's still a single open and close of the database. So, leave it next time, and you will see they will report. Ok ! Will give that a try, i was gonna revert back to the older version. 'More results to report is good, means less database hits. Database hits are hard on the server. If you report 1 or 20, the hit is about the same (maybe a few seconds longer), but it's still a single open and close of the database.' The results are being uploaded to the server which means the database comes into the picture here also. Its only that they are not acknowledged. So.... ? But anyway, will not manually update for couple of days, lets see if it happens on its own. |

The results are being uploaded to the server which means the database comes into the picture here also. Not really. The uploads go to a storage directory, a different database keeps track of what is in that directory so the main online database is not affected. My movie https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/502242 |

Actually, there is clearly a bug. I had BOINC not report any work at all during the week I was off on vacation (5.8.15 was the BOINC version). A restart of BOINC fixed the problem (but probably not the lost credit). jm7 BOINC WIKI |

same here... didn't use SETI since BOINC replaced old client... now all seemed fine until I saw that no work was reported as done... The report does not happen instantly. The report happens at the first of: 1) Time is later than 24 hours before deadline. 2) Time is later than "Connect every X" before deadline. 3) Time is later than "Connect every X" after completion. 4) A request for work occurrs. 5) A manual connection. If you are patient, it should upload and report by itself. There have been problems with DNS caches keeping the IP address of some of the Berkeley servers as these servers have recently changed ISPs. Some of these are under your control, and others are under the control of your ISP. BOINC WIKI |

whops... it's really a matter of patience ;-) When I looked at "your computers" and clicked on "results" I saw the problem: my work was reported as done when the other users where ready with their part of the game. |
