Looking forward to the v2 for linux, whenever it arrives!

Hi folks,

today i finnished porting the code thanks to Joe and Ben.

The application is working and should hopefull be ready for release this week.

I've got a fresh pair of 64 bit C2D e6300's ready for the apps.. plus my usual array of 64 bit AMDs...

Great to see you're still alive, man.

Hey !!! SideBand !!! MY old friend !

Been a while since we talked to each other! Hehe ... still like irish beer ? :-)

OK my friend ... it got the app working and am setting up the hosts Os'ses on VMware ... i guess till the end of the week we'll have a first releas of the app... Most probably it'll be the 64 bit one first... soon to be followed by the 32 bit one... :-)

Again hope you're doing well and don't drink to much of that "irish" beer... you know ... a real german beer tastes way better :-)

There's only a small point of the code to fix..

As of now i'm running my own ported code for some days now ...

here are some links to my hosts running the Beta SE app... (we're at third edition atm... at last that's my count)

P4
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=3182936

XP 2800+
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=2670847

The only thing that's keeping us from releasing it, is the precision of AK sse1 chirping ....

If we get that fixed... the linux app will be slightly faster than the windows app...

Sleep ??? What is that :-)
Never heard of it....

So to give you all an impression of what's going on atm...

IHMO i think we're done with porting the source to linux as far as we can get.

In the past week i was running a pre release app( my so called SE app) that worked quite well.

It's been a week full of debugging, research and testing on our latest problems.

But finally today i think we finished porting the source to linux.
At this point there's nothing left to be done or i could do to make it work even better.

About an hour ago I switched my linux computers to the my final version of 2.2B and published the apps and sources to Simon.

Hopefully we can publish the apps. very soon so that we can go over to 2.2C.

Special Thanks goes to Joesef "Joe" Segur who's been a great help to get the job done. Thanks!

That's great news Crunch3r. We'll keep an eye on Simon's site until he gets the DL's posted there. Many thanks to you all.

BTW, pardon what may be a silly question, but when data become available to crunch from the multibeam receiver, will that mean a new science app and you'll have to do this all over again ???? Ouch.

Best Regards,

Sorry,
I went on a gaming binge today...

Today (actually yesterday by now, here) was the european PS 3 launch, and guess who got one...nah, not me, my boss, and all employees get to play (after hours).

So new apps will have to wait a day or two still; I'd predict a release early next week (no promises, but it looks good).

Regards,
Simon.

Not really,

little bit of a run, but we managed to nab one without having pre-reserved it at a small local dealer nobody had thought of.

Everyone went to the big chains and queued, we walked into a small store and walked out within 5 minutes with a new PS 3 ;o)

Simon.
