It's time for Pawly to go back to dial-up.

Message 522868 - Posted: 24 Feb 2007, 22:49:13 UTC - in response to Message 522851.

Just sent off a "polite" email to my ISP about P2P throttling.
I threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau!
Probably won't help.

Captain Cannuck can't handle it himself...?

The Capatain knows that battling the forces of truely evil ISP's
requires A whole team of Super Powered Canucks!

Need any help?

I'll let ya know Chris,

in the mean time here's my dilemma...I pay for 5mb of download bandwidth(Rogers cable) and my P2P programs (uTorrent and Lime Wire) can only achieve 30kb/s on average, because of throttling. In essence, paying for a service I don't get to use to the fullest. My GF is on Bell highspeed (connected to a phone line, does that make it dial up? Guess so) and downloads in hours what takes me days. I would switch but I am told by Bell that this service is not avaiable in my area...even though my brother is using this 4 KM away!

Downloading via P2P is completely legal in Canada. American Companies have no right to claim copyright infringement OR try to exert pressure on Canadian ISP's to limit/slow down PAYING customers!

The situation is infuriating!!

Looks like the thread is getting serious. Just look at Pawly's poor little smileys!

Noticing the change in scenery, I can only conclude I am winning!

In Canada a couple means at least 8.
