Hi speedimic,

I suspected that much ;)
Well, since my German is as good as my knowledge of the inner-workings of a phillips screwdriver for left-handed green-eyed people, I think I'm stuck with these forums :) Thanks anyway.

Regards,
Wander

Would you be so kind and check out my rig 3074825. I have updated to the latest version of Boinc and I think it is slow. Can you please advise if I can use this so called chicken soup. Which version shall I download and so on..
Looking forward to your advise.

Your rig appears to have a Prescott P4, so the SSE3-Intel P4/PD version is recommended. And here's a related quote from the lunatics.at site:
As always, use these apps at your own risk. A pre-edited app_info.xml has been included with all files. Please unpack the files to a temporary location using 7-Zip (get it from http://www.7-zip.org), then read Instructions.txt in the folder it creates.

Now I am really confused.

I read that 2.2 is for Intel chips only. Here I read that some people with AMD use it too. Can I use 2.2 with AMD cpu?

For AMD you just have to use the files without "intel" in their name.

The compressed archive you download from the lunatics.at site has a file named instructions.txt which should guide you through the installation. But if you have any problems or doubts, you can always post message here :)

Message 522427 - Posted: 24 Feb 2007, 1:03:50 UTC

I am having a problem updating with the auto installer 2.2 without graphics. Once I run the test and it attempts to install the application, I get an "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application . . . Cannot create file what that file already exists." I hit "continue" which indicates that it should continue with install anyway over the existing application. Evidently, it does not as I have tried this three times over the last couple of days.

I have exited Boinc when I have done the install and I have waited for a number of new work units to run and complete to confirm my version. Still reports me as running the 2.0.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I had this happen on two of my three systems. For some reason it won't overwrite the old "apps_info.xml" file in your Seti@home project folder when copying in the new 2.2 application files. Either when this happens, or before you start the automatic installer, rename your existing apps_info.xml file to a different name. Then push the "Install best application" button and it will work.

Brock

Neat trick, Brock!
Now I didn't know that, and I wrote it ;o)

Good catch. Will be fixed in the next version.

Big Thanks to the guys that made the new 'Chicken Soup' (v.2.2) possible ;)

It certainly brought new life into my old rigs.

And it gives me an even warmer feeling, that I get the most out of the money spend (very low WAF) on the electricity bill!
