Eating uncooked animal flesh of any kind is like playing Russian roulette
with your intestinal tract.

Doesn't seem to bother the Japanese, and there are whole lot of them.

BTW, the plural of helminthoid is helminthoides. Free education for everyone!

On the contrary...the Japanese have one of the highest helminthic
infection rates...they just don't go around telling everyone.

Bad for business...

Point taken. I guess this is why we have very strict food safety and handling laws in North America, especially in Canada.

...and nice helminthoids installed at no extra charge.

hehe Had to go look that one up. Couldn't ya of just said worms? lol

...I could have, but I take great joy in the progression of your education.

Even back to fossils (Helminthoid Flysch)?

Are these part of the genus nematode, which are widely found in the soil? As described in ...

Nematode
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search
Nematodes

Scientific classification
Kingdom: Animalia

Phylum: Nematoda
Rudolphi, 1808

Classes
Adenophorea
Subclass Enoplia
Subclass Chromadoria
Secernentea
Subclass Rhabditia
Subclass Spiruria
Subclass Diplogasteria

The nematodes (Phylum Nematota from Greek νῆμα (nema): "thread" + -ώδη -ode "like") are one of the most common phyla of animals, with over 20,000 different described species (over 15,000 are parasitic). They are ubiquitous in freshwater, marine, and terrestrial environments, where they often outnumber other animals in both individual and species counts, and are found in locations as diverse as Antarctica and oceanic trenches. Further, there are a great many parasitic forms, including pathogens in most plants and animals, humans included. Only the Arthropoda are more diverse.

The Nematodes were originally named Nematoidea by Rudolphi (1808). They were renamed Nematodes by Burmeister 1837 (as a family; Leuckart 1848 and von Siebold 1848 both promoted them to the rank of order), then Nematoda (Diesing 1861), though Nathan Cobb (1919) argued that they should be called Nemata or Nemates (and in English 'nemas' rather than 'nematodes'). After some confusion which saw the nematodes placed (often together with the horsehair worms, Nematomorpha) as a class or order in various groups such as Aschelminthes, Lankester (1877) definitively promoted them to the level of phylum.

I continue to win?

Another time in the winner spot, with help of the poot free dogbot thread!

How about a free hotdog with optional poot?

Hi John.

Hi there Monday!

What's the weather like down-under?

Dull, cloudy, 15-20 mph winds and cold (~-1 C) here!

719

It's nice 22.5C no wind. I think the top temp today was 32 or 34C. O and its dark lol.

Hello folks, another cold one here.....-9c feels like -16c

It's all warmed up here and all the snow has gone. Forecast is more for the w/e.

We'll see....

Well it's lunch time.....I'm off for AYCE Sushi ttfn
