Well, guess who's back?

American rock star Prince, who made a lot of new fans with his Superbowl halftime show performance, has just announced a 21 concert tour...
all of them in London!

He plays a pretty mean guitar.

That's hilarious...and an excellent idea for a super-secret spy device...James Bond needs some of those.

I'm ducking away from the game to share this Canuck story with you.

It's priceless! Hahahah!

I, Spy

Did you hear the one about the Canadian coin with the nano-technological radio transmitter?
No? The Americans did.

*********************

WASHINGTON (AP) — An odd-looking Canadian quarter with a bright red flower was the culprit behind a false espionage warning from the U.S. Defense Department about mysterious coins with radio frequency transmitters, The Associated Press has learned.

The harmless “poppy quarter” was so unfamiliar to suspicious U.S. army contractors travelling in Canada that they filed confidential espionage accounts about them. The worried contractors described the coins as “filled with something man-made that looked like nanotechnology,” according to once-classified U.S. government reports and e-mails obtained by the AP.

The silver-coloured 25-cent piece features the red image of a poppy, Canada’s flower of remembrance, inlaid over a maple leaf. The unorthodox quarter is identical to the coins pictured and described as suspicious in the contractors’ accounts. The supposed nano-technology actually was a protective coating the Royal Canadian Mint applied to prevent the poppy’s red colour from rubbing off. The mint produced nearly 30 million such quarters in 2004 commemorating Canada’s 117,000 war dead.

“It did not appear to be electronic (analog) in nature or have a power source,” wrote one U.S. contractor, who discovered the coin in the cup holder of a rental car.

“Under high power microscope, it appeared to be complex consisting of several layers of clear, but different material, with a wire-like mesh suspended on top.”

The confidential accounts led to a sensational warning from the Defense Security Service, an agency of the Defense Department, that mysterious coins with radio frequency transmitters were found planted on U.S. contractors with classified security clearances on at least three separate occasions between October 2005 and January 2006 as the contractors travelled through Canada.

“We’ll have a good laugh over it,” said John Regitko, who writes a newsletter for a leading coincollecting organization, the Canadian Numismatic Association. “We never suspected there was such a thing (as spy coins) anyway.”

Regitko predicted the quarter will become especially popular among collectors because of its infamy as the culprit behind the spy warning, despite the quarter’s wide availability. “Everybody has some in their drawer at home,” he said.

One contractor believed someone had placed two of the quarters in an outer coat pocket after the contractor had emptied the pocket hours earlier. “Coat pockets were empty that morning and I was keeping all of my coins in a plastic bag in my inner coat pocket,” the contractor wrote.

The Defense Department subsequently acknowledged it could never substantiate the espionage warning, but until now it has never disclosed the details behind the embarrassing episode.

As a youngster, I guzzled bottles of Szambuka and Vodka. Unfortunately I now get violent on Vodka so none of that.

Now it's beer only (usually Labatt's or Honey Brown Lager) and a VERY RARE shot of Szambuka..

We've got it, we've got it!

But first, it's time for some party food to wash down with the beer...

Baked Ziti with Cheese!

And a cold one to wash it down with!

Being in a wheelchair (but fairly mobile out of it--I just have no legs below the knees) I'd like to skydive....pull the Stephen Hawkings trip and go on a low/no Gravity plane flight.

Otherwise my goal would be to pass on leaving no debt to my wife...pay off the house...

I'd go spend time with my family in Utah (oldest bro & kids). I'd leave small college grants in trust funds for each of them (they're young). Then I'd go see Alaska and Hawaii.

Then there's always old scores to settle... :)

That's a good plan. Anything you'd do for kicks? Or that you've wanted to try and never got around to?
