Driver's computer on when he is killed February 27, 2007 YUBA CITY Ã¢â‚¬â€œ A man who authorities say appeared to be driving while using his laptop computer died yesterday when his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Hummer at Highway 99 and 113 about 30 miles north of Sacramento. After the crash, California Highway Patrol officers found the 28-year-old victim's computer running and plugged into the cigarette lighter of his 1991 Honda Accord. The victim, who wasn't immediately identified, was a computer tutor in Chico, the CHP said. Associated Press Has anyone nominated him for a Darwin Award? I wanna know what was on his computer screen. Yes, the riots have been in the news since Thursday here, and Thursday night there was nothing else in the news than this. I won't explain what it's about, it's a long and complicated story. Living where I do, I'm not influenced, but as I'm going to Copenhagen tomorrow and have a two hour stay over there before my train back is departing (I could save a lot of money on the ticket if I take a later train home), I have no plans at all to go to where it takes place. I know the part of the town well from when I lived not far from there, but it has become worse the past years. It was in this part of the town where the young Italian tourist Antonio Curra so shamefully was murdered. See also here.
