...the Maritimes right on the Atlantic Coast...

That was my third guess. Yeah, you guys get serious weather there sometimes...but the beer and seafood must makeup for it! Being busy at work is good...it means you get too keep yer job!

Thanks Pawly! I love the snow...except when I have to shovel out three feet of it from around the car before going to work every morning. My house was built over a hundred years before the invention of the automobile, so guess whose car is buried in snow every morning. What a pain!

Moosehead is our local brew, and yeah, the lobster, shrimp and scallops are just delicious. I used to enjoy those small family-business fish&chippies and expecially the clams in homemade batter. But sadly, the KFCs and MacDonalds have put them all out of business. :(

Heh! Moosehead is one of my favourites! As for MOM and POP, Do you have a Walmart yet? They spell the end of Family Business.

*Sigh* Yeah, we've got one already, with another on the way.

To happier thoughts: I'm putting up another batch of "The Daily Funnies"; it should be up in a few minutes.

Enjoy!

I was away this weekend, and let me tell ya.....it was FREAKING COLD!! There were ten of us and everyone was wearing everything they had packed! I had on 3 pair of socks, 2 pair of pants, 2 t shirts, 2 sweatshirts (one hooded), a winter jacket, hat and gloves. At night, when the winds picked up, IT WAS BITTER COLD!

Pawly I can agree with you 110%
I just came back from Estonia - where the cold just sucked the breath outta you.
I had my REAL SERIOUS winter woollies on ... and I was defeated in less than an hour. The registered temperature in Võru was -25ºC for 3 days running - and even the locals, used to the cold in Winter were almost comatose from the effects ...(I think it is all down to Global Warming caused by the hole in the Ozone Layer (remember that?) and the same effects this Planet has regularly gone through countless times over the Millennia - er, um ... way BEFORE our forefathers ever had automobiles and jet aircraft!!!!!)

But Estonia was sublimely ... COLD!!!!!

Hi Bodley!

I believe you when you say the temperature in Võru was -25ºC for 3 days running. I had an Estonian girlfriend when I was in university, and the first word she taught me was "rohellineh" which means green. It's a cold country at the best of times, but the Estonians are a hardy, outdoorsy people. If they were nearly comatose, it must've been bitter. Did the vodka freeze over?

@Pawly: Heyas! Sorry about the absence, it was long shifts of work for me. I'm way further east than Ontario, over in the Maritimes right on the Atlantic Coast. We get all those storms that come up from New England, combined with our own "Made in Canada" actic winds. LOL

Hi Champ!

I think your warmer weather is from El Nino, and our recent extreme temperatures are the result of global warming. People in Canada have taken notice, it's now the major political issue in the country, according to the polls.

Mornin' Guys,

I think in Cananda, Global warming has shifted into high gear and we are already suffering the long term effects.....AN ICE AGE!!

Now, being good tough Canadian lads, this did not deter us from zooming around on snowmobiles. However, those wearing proper snowmobile suits did not need the constant flow of alcohol laced coffee or frequent trips to the gas BBQ we had lit, to keep the courage high.

@ Beethoven - Where ya been hiding? We've been pulling our own draughts! A blizzard, eh? I guess your out in Western Ontario or Southern Manitoba?

Stay warm,
Pawly

Hello Beets. Thanks for the breakfast.

Today we have 9°C outside. Very warm for febuary. Spring is coming very early this month.
Is this the global warming or el ninhio?

Certainly not here! It's 4,5 degree C here, foggy, the forecast says the same tomorrow, which is good as I have a lunch date with my brother tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will be relatively nice tomorrow.

But Wednesday they say snow and frost and this continues the rest of the week.
