Thanks for the answer guys, that helps for future holidays.

Another quick question for you, I have WU's for my main PC and I can't seem to get ANY at all for my laptop, and reason why ???

Andy

Restart BOINC, hit the update button and after the update has finished, post the information from the Messages Tab.

(Note: If you're seeing "No work from project", there's nothing we can do for you. You'll just have to wait until work is available to download.)

Please note that if you participate in other projects, this setting will affect them and other computers attached to this account as well.

You can avoid that by setting venues ;)

You're right, of course, but I have a question about that and maybe you (or someone else) can help me: if you have the same machine attached to two different projects and give a different venue in each project, say, HOME in project A and SCHOOL in project B, which configuration will it use?

As I understand this "most-recent-wins" config policy, in this case the computer will use the most recent configuration in any of the two venues in either of the projects, will it?

Just curious... :-)

Regards,
Wander

It is supposed to use the venue where the general preferences were updated last.

As the title suggests really.I have seen on a couple of threads about people increasing their cache size a couple of days before a holiday weekend and I was wondering how I can do that, as I can't see an option for it anywhere.

Please help.

Andy

Hi Andy,

Go to this page in your account preferences and increase the value of the "Connect to network about every (x) days" parameter. This will tell your machine accumulate the equivalent in (x) days of work in your local HD.

After changing and saving the preferences, don't forget to select SAH project and hit the Update button in the Projects tab of your BOINC Mgr. Please note that if you participate in other projects, this setting will affect them and other computers attached to this account as well.

Regards,
Wander
