You will LOVE it, my cousin lives there and when I visit it is very relaxing. I live just South of DC and it is bumper to bumper traffic for HOURS every day!!!
The neighborhoods LOVE us commuters!
Des Moines is slow enough to be relaxing but busy enough that there is a 7/11 close by.

Thanks Mikey. I'll have to report in once I get settled. I understand that I will have to learn some new lingo, like: "warsh my car", and "over yonder", and "up the road a piece".

I haven't seen any decent snow, and snow drifts, since 1987 to play in. I want to see what the limits to the 4x4, with road biased winter tyres, is like compared a normal car.

In snow the ground clearence and 4 wheeled power should be an advantage?

Should be an advantage...But you can still end up as a guest in a ditch...

I noticed I got around just fine in the snow in my front wheel drive Chevrolet HHR...I used to drive a 2WD (rear wheel) Ford F-150 Pickup...It was an adventure to drive it in the snow.
