Do they come in blue? I couldn't possibly were pink pumps even if it meant a chance at being illegally immigrated.

No, this isn't the Israeli Wall in the West Bank, it's the American Wall, built by the Minutemen, the volunteer group of anti-Mexican immigration activists, to keep them the heck outta the USA. Notice the excellent corrugated ridge design, which should be a real hindrance to Mexican infiltrators with running shoes attempting to scale the wall.

LOL

Arn't they against Illegal Mexican Immigration?

Let alone any terrorist can get through that border whether they are Mexican Iranian (Canadian)ect..

Yep. That's the general idea of the fence. It should make for an interesting test of Judy Wertheim's "Brinco Border Crossers". She's the Argentinian artist who designed the shoes especially for poor Mexican border-crossing immigrants. They sell dirt cheap in Mexico, but they cost $215 in upscale New York boutiques.

Here's the story on that:

"In American shoe shops, they cost $215, but the designer of the trendy “Brincos” sneakers is willing to give the shoes away to Mexicans who illegally cross the border. After all, the shoes are really meant for them. There’s a flashing light attached to the laces to guide hopeful immigrants on nocturnal journeys as well as a small compass to help if they get lost. The shoe’s tongue contains a pocket for money, because the migrants are often robbed. The removable insole reveals a detailed map of the border area.
Argentinean artist Judi Werthein, who lives in New York—legally—invented Brincos as an art project. Around 1,000 of the shoes, made in China for $17 U.S. each, have been exhibited in San Diego and Tijuana shops. Speaking to the Mexican newspaper El Universal (November 21, 2005), Werthein emphasized that she is not encouraging Latin Americans to cross the border. They’ll do that anyway, she believes, so she wants them to be equipped. “I am just asking for attention to the horrific circumstances in which immigrants live."

I guess you could call them, "The Sneaker's Sneakers". LOL

since everyone knows about them I can surmise that the thieves will catch them by the blinking light and know were to steal their money LOL

Ha Ha ha - and I couldn't help but notice the nearby tower on the other side to shorten the drop on the way over. Is that taxi all ready and available?

Yo Beets, waddup?

Heyas, Mike! Happy New Year to ya!

I had a nice pleasant day today. I watched the Rose Bowl Parade, a couple of Bowl football games, then I slept off my hangover. When I got back on here this afternoon, the server was down. I guess they were putting up the complaint button again. I'm glad for that...maybe it will cut down on some of the grumbling. More work for you guys though, I'm sure. I took the dog out for a run, the cold snap seems to have broken tonight, and now here I am.

I'm going to put up some "Daily Funnies" now, to start the year off with a chuckle or two. :)

Good Morning, Fuzzy!

OWWW, but do I have a wicked hangover this morning!

I'll be back a little later. It's time to watch the 118th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade. That's a holiday tradition of mine: bubbly and the Rose Bowl Parade.

If you like penguins (they're amazing creatures), you must see the movie "March of the Penguins". It's fantastic!

As for me: BRRRRRRRR! It's too cold in this room to think about the Antarctic. I'm thinking of warm places, like this pool in Tahiti.

See you later today! :)

What do you prefer to visualize then?

This or this ?

I haven't seen "March of the Penguins", I've heard a lot of critique about it, yes, it's amazing picture-wise, but I'm not fond of movies where they humanize animals and, in this case, birds.

Did you notice the humans in the background running to catch up? LOL

Hiya Beets. There is a really cute advert being shown on UK TV right now. A little boy is asked what he wants to be when he grows up. "A Fireman" he says. The next one says "A police man". Then it's the little girls turn, and she says "I want to be a penguin".

The UK guys here will tell you it is a really sweet advert. What is the advert for? I have no idea. Ha ha!!!

Congrats Ice on the 666th Post!

Wow! Does that mean I'm Damien?

Yes Yes...Whats a Damien?

He's this guy who can look at you make you writhe on the floor clutching your stomach in agony. I expect he has a knack of making you remember the bad curry you had yesterday. (hint: The Omen)
