Nahhh.. You guy keep Quebec. But, enough Off-Topic.

As things stand now, I think it is rather universally agreed that the woman was within her rights to breastfeed on that airplane, and that the flight attendant (and by extension, the airline) 'oopsed' when they stopped it. Anyone else have anything topical to add, or should we just consider this discussion closed?

as you want to cross post it in other threads, i'll repost what i said in the other thread.

why am i uneducated?

Well Sammie ... what can I say ... ?
OK! tell you what ...
If you can name ALL of the 52 States of America, I will gladly admit that you know FAR more than me.
If you can also name the State Capitals of the last two (States 51 and 52 to join the Union) ... I will personally give you £10,000. That is my Bond, made openly and before all of the witnesses to this Board.

If you cannot do this, however, then my original statement stands.

ok look the #2 is just above the #0 on the number pad, i have long nails, so i hit a wrong key now and then, and in the middle of a long post like that, it slipped by, but i am sure Canada (Ottawa) and Mexico (Mexico City) would be invaded to become 51 and 52, sooner or later. ;p
keep ya money i don't like rubber cheques

and if you noticed the "lol" after the canada mexico statement you'll see i was making my typing error a laughing matter,
you know that thing called humor? maybe you need to go buy some.

@ BODLEY:

Look, we all make typos from time to time. We are only human, and make mistakes. I pointed one out to Sammie, she fixed it, and we both had a laugh. Please drop this subject, and lets everybody just refrain from personal insults at each other. If we can't play nice on the park's playground (Cafe SETI), the city (the SETI@HOME project) may close it.

Thank you.

Please show me where I posted an insult. Please show me where the ultimate insult was thrown at me with only ONE voice raised against it. (And that was NOT the voice of a MOD)

We return to "As The Breast Milk Turns"

As many have pointed out, I have a nice RAC.

My rack's not so bad either. ;)

Said rack was put to good use after the birth of our daughter. Now-a-days, she's a lithe and limber 49" and 49 lbs. You never would have guessed she'd look like this at age six. At birth she was a whopping 10.25 lbs, 22 inches long and had a 17" chest.

As you can imagine it takes quite the pair to feed a baby of that size. "Large babies don't double in size by six months," was said to me by many doctors and nurses. I don't know why. Maybe they wanted to ensure I didn't freak out when she didn't meet that well-touted expectation.

And they were right. She doubled her weight in FOUR months.

All by the power of the boob.

Once I got over myself, I had no compunction against nursing her any where she deemed necessary. Most times, I would leave a store and sit in the back of my car. I had pillows and drinks, I'd play the radio. Now and again that was not the best option.

The mall, for example. We're talking a HUGE facility. Fortunately, most malls have nice places to sit down and the Pacific View Mall (Ventura, CA) is no exception. Indeed they have big, over-stuffed comfy couches about every 10 feet it seems.

So, Christmas approaches and I'm trying to shop a bit with my almost 3 mos. old child. The place was busy, but it was mid-day & mid-week and most folks are working. I found a spot, covered a bit, and sat back to let nature take its course.

The child was at a point, developmentally, where anything on her head was uncomfortable and impeded her newly-developed long-distance eyesight. I could use a blanket to cover for attachment or respositioning, but that was about all she'd tolerate.

So we're about half-way along and this guy sits down across from us. Soon enough, he figured out what we were up to. His eyeballs about popped out of his head and his jaw nearly hit the floor.

And he held that posture for ten solid minutes.

Now, seriously, what's ruder? Trying to discretely feed a kid or blatantly STARING at someone. His posture was so exaggerated that people walking by noticed him and not us.

It was really weird.

Finally, the baby was done. Rather than pulling the blanket over and repositioning all my clothing, I held her to the side and with a free hand held my boob aloft towards him and said "Were you wanting some, too?"

I never saw a guy sprint out of a mall so fast.

Bouncily Yours,

- T.
