Found it interesting for Seti people. :-) Very good!! I like it! Not only funny, but insightful. On the level of Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett |

Heh :o) I'm somehow reminded of a story by Stanislaw Lem I've been reading the other day: Ijon Tichy's "Eigth Travel" from the "Star Diaries" Regards Hans P.S: His sense of humor is along the same lines, so you might want to pick up this book if you stumble across it. I'ts been out of print for decades... |

Found it interesting for Seti people. :-) It must be the most incredible coincedence but I just finished watching the film "Alive" a fue minutes ago. The one about the plane crash in the Andies and they all eat each other as "meat" to stay alive. |

It is a good story. It plays on the scenario of how we might cope (or not) if we ever found alien life and it turned out to be very different from us. How would humans come to terms with that psychologically? Would we just walk away, as was the suggestion in the story, because we found it too disturbing? Would they be just too bizarre for us? Would it frighten us to the extent that we might find it better not to engage in contact with them? Or, if aliens are already aware of our presence, perhaps in their wisdom they know that already. They may conclude that we are just not mature enough as a race to withstand contact with them owing to their physical difference. So they choose not to contact us for that very reason. The story throws up a lot of questions. I liked it for that reason. 'No one can make you inferior without your consent.' Eleanor Roosevelt. |

Found it interesting for Seti people. :-) Thanks. I had a link to that a long time ago, back when I used windows. It got lost in the transition. Nothing travels faster than the speed of light with the possible exception of bad news, which obeys its own special laws. Douglas Adams (1952 - 2001) |
