I have a computer that has not been online since July. For some reason, I do not have the option to delete this host. I have been able to delete others that are no longer online (our computer recently went through a large replacement). Is there another way to delete this host? Thanks in advance. |

That computer still has results listed for it. Until those results are purged from the database you will not be able to delete it. These may be "orphaned" wu's which may take some time, but when they do disappear you will be given the option to delete it. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to be a little more patient. Thanks. |

As Jim said, as long as the database 'thinks' you have units assigned t othat computer, you will not be able to delete it. It would cause database corruption. And we have 'been there, done that', already. |

The latest I've heard from Eric and others is that the reason they have switched to deleting validated results immediately is to try to identify these "orphaned" work units so they can be removed safely. When this is done you will be able to delete your unused computer. So hopefully within the next few weeks or maybe even sooner! /format c: I have done that a couple of times. Code that was supposed to delete a specific subtree that would delete from the root under certain failure conditions... BOINC WIKI |
