Seti doesn't work; also multiple icons show up on my launch bar

Looks like you are connected now. You now have one computer connected which has downloaded one work unit. As for the seti icon. What you should be seeing is a cirlce with a 'B" in it. This indicates that BOINC Manager is running. You will not see individual icons for the various projects. If you are seeing the old 'seti classic' icon, it needs to be uninstalled so it does not run. From time to time I try to get this working; reinstall BOINC, etc. It does not seem to work. Plus, now I'm getting multiple SETI icons on my launch bar - as many as forty, though not always. Sometimes I can get the to go away when I run my cursor over them, not always. When I received the invitation to do SETI again, it had me log in and then my total other hours would be saved. Should I just abandon this, wipe this computer clean and start over? SETI was originally installed on another computer. Any help is appreciated. |
