@ Anne - Really Beautiful Artworks in your Gallery Anne. I especially liked 'Cour de Rohan' . . . Your Art is Exceptionally Professional - 'Long Live the Arts' . . . Bonjour, Anne. I have also looked at your new portfolio site and agree with Richard. In fact, when I looked through the thumbnails, the first I clicked on turned out to be 'Cour de Rohan' - I think that would be my favourite too. The pictures are in very different styles which makes the collection interesting. I see you have a link to a site about Diana Rigg on your blog. She has been a favourite of mine for years, ever since "The Avengers." I saw her on stage in London playing in Heartbreak House by George Bernard Shaw (a rather difficult play but she was riveting in it.) She also, along with Telly Savalas, helped make "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" one of the best Bond films. |

Aah, I'm glad that you like Diana Rigg ! If you want to know more about her career, her (Unofficial) web-site is the right place ! ;) In the meantime, here are two recent pictures of her. In Ricky Gervais' "Extras", she filmed last June and which aired in September in the UK, where she's acting alongside Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) : And in "The Painted Veil" she filmed during the summer of 2005, due to be released in December, where she's acting alongside Edward Norton ("American History X") : Sorry, I can't help but promoting her ! :)))

Good morning, or whatever it is in your timezone, Beets, Anne, TimeLord, Misfit, all ... RL coffee's brewing, and here's some cyber ditto Have a cup And because it's Sunday, here's some Danish I've just watched a fun show on tv, it's a spoof of Donald Trump's show, where some people have enrolled themselves, because they think they shall compete about the position as general manager in a big company owned by, as they find out during the shows, a very eccentric billionaire, and where the tasks for survival are getting more and more weird. It's so funny to watch. link "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me |

Aah, I'm glad that you like Diana Rigg ! Thanks for the pictures. I really like the first one. What in particular has caused you to like her so much (if I may ask?) |

Aah, I'm glad that you like Diana Rigg ! Well, the first time I saw her was in "The Avengers", but who didn't fall in love with her at that time ? I was about 12 and at that age you can't tell exactly why you feel what you feel for someone. After that I saw her in different parts over the years, but not enough to my taste. It's quite recently that I've decided to "come back to her". I'm collecting a maximum of the films she did, in their original version (all her films I saw were dubbed) and I'm now watching them in the chronological order. That's it. What about you ? You crossed the ocean to see her in "Heartbreak House" with Rex Harrison ? It was in 1983, March, April ? I hate the Bond film, she's barely good there, except at the end, when Tracy dies. She looks so relieved in death ! This is the only scene I would save of the film. Sorry if you like it much ! :) Anne © anne schmidt - L'Humeur Bleue |

Aah, I'm glad that you like Diana Rigg ! Who indeed? Collecting the original versions is a good idea, as she has a lovely crisp voice. As to why I particularly admire her, perhaps it should always be difficult to answer that. The voice, the shape of her face, the admirable qualities of the character of Emma Peel - strong, self-confident, competent, witty, beautiful, feminine, elegant... and of course, that wonderful, irreplaceable extra - talent. Yes, that was the performance, in the Haymarket. I was living in Cambridge at the time, so it was not quite such a spectacular effort to get there as it might seem! Looking through a selection of her other stage appearances, there are lots of others I wish I had seen, too. That Bond film has the strongest screenplay of all, with him really falling in love and marrying instead of just being a smart alec. The scene I most enjoy is with Rigg and Savalas where they trade Shakespeare quotes and she beguiles him while through the window we see the attacking helicopters flying in. |

That was George Lazenby, in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", wasn't it? Maybe they killed good ol' George as 007 because he became too attached to one woman? At least, Roger Moore, who took over right after, wasn't a one-woman guy! I've seen Mona Lisa's Smile tonight. Excellent movie, good actors, and even Julia Roberts were Ok in it. Well, what impaired the film was probably that it had a real story, not the usual crap spies/counter-spies. I don't like the Bond films anyway. Maybe I should take them as a portrayal of the way we intend to rule the world : using brutality and thinking that we are intitled tu it ..? Not sure if I'm clear ... The scene I most enjoy is with Rigg and Savalas where they trade Shakespeare quotes and she beguiles him while through the window we see the attacking helicopters flying in. Yes, that was Lazenby. He and Rigg did not get on well together, and he had no previous acting experience. The critics panned his performance, but that was partly so they could make clever remarks such as "Back to the chocolates, George!" (he had done some Bond-like chocolate advertisements before.) I never did share that bad opinion of him and now he seems more accepted in the role. He decided not to continue with the Bond movies, as far as one can tell as a result of bad advice from his agents and bad judgement on his part. |
