I think the mac machines that have ~3x benchmarks are running an alternative BOINC client. I don't think it makes ay difference for credits earned with SETI.

But if I had $11,000 to spend I would use it on a car, or house. Atleast that would hold its value MUCH longer then any PC you purchase today.

blowing $100k on cars girls and night clubs wasn't one of the most responsible things I have done, but maan it was fun! pity don't have anything to show for it now!

Oh, I put a Core2 machine together for a few hundred $... check it out! I just started using the other core which was doing cpdn until a few days ago. RAC should go to about 1700. I might get another one soon, got so many bits lying around now.

Yeah buying a house is important, That is one thing I have to do next week among other things. The Car comes today of course, My old one has suffered enough with Me, As It's time to put It out of Its misery. ;)

none of the optimized apps work with windows xp professional x64 but thats cool still crunching that's all that matters to me
